Default Resource for calorie counting and meal prepairing?

Hi alls, sometimes I am a rebel in the kitchen. Sometimes I just throw ish together untill I get something that works.

Since I don't always follow a recipe is there a website where I can plug in what I am putting together and get the total calories where I can then divide into servings? I know I *can* do the math myself, but A. I don't always trust my accuracy and B. I don't wanna!

THanks for any help or ideas!

I have tried many recipe calculators but i find this one to be the easiest to use because it has a huge data base of foods. If you don't find your specific food, try searching in "shared foods" . Chances are, someone has entered your specific ingredient into the database

I had tried the calorie counting and personally got fusterated with it. As you i enjoy cooking at home and trying to figure out the calorie count and all got to be a pain in the butt!!

I think this is what you are looking for:

http://caloriecount.about.com/cc/recipe_analysis.php

I use it all the time. Copy/paste your recipe (no need to look up food by food) and it will calculate things for you. It is the least tedious to use, I think. I have found, though, that with certain foods it picks really strange equivalencies - like, I made something with some mayonaise, and it put in salad dressing. So I had to go and put in an actual brand name for it to find the right food.

Try it and see if you like it!

THANK YOU! That is just what I was looking for!

I joined the SparkPeople one and really liked it! I will try the second link next time I cook.
