My start weight is questionable because of my 3782 false starts
OMG... I nearly LOL'ed when I read that (but I am at work - have to be quiet!)! I can totally relate to that!
My highest ever was December of 2001. I *THINK* I was pushing 250 lbs. I switched from white to wheat bread and joined my first gym. I lost 20 lbs. and I have never again seen those 20 lbs. (I don't count my pregnancy)
Since that 20 lb loss, I have been back and forth between 210 and 230... and I am tired of this! I am going to lose it once and for all... I can be yo-yo-ing between 210 and 230 forever!
At the rate I am going, I am hoping to hit 199 by summer. You best believe when I 199, I will be sporting a bikini - stretch marks and all!!!
I started out at 249 lbs. Now I weigh 188.8 (as of this morning, haha!). It look me about 6 months (I had my fair share of falling of the wagon during that time as well) to lose the first 50 lbs and make it to 199. I started out very slow, just cutting back on portion sizes and moving more. Now I count calories and exercise 1 hr per day 4-5 days/wk.
Don't be afraid about regaining once you lose. Of course, it's always something you want to make sure you're aware of, but once you get to the 100s and start feeling better mentally AND physically, you probably wont want to stop! I know I don't.
It's taken me nearly a year to go from 273lb to 180lb. I think I left the 200's around about the end of November? My highest weight was 308 though I lost weight two Summers ago and did pretty much manage to maintain that loss despite a badly broken ankle.
Last month was a bad month when I was very much off plan and only exercised a few times yet I still managed to maintain at 186lb. I've also managed to maintain when away from home so far too. I'm also scared of putting weight back on but have a better idea now how may calories to eat and even when not so on plan I still stick to that. Weight loss has got slower since getting under 190lb though.
I started this journey in August at 210 lbs. I think it took me about three weeks to drop those 10 and get into onederland (I love how quickly weight falls off at the beginning!). Now I'm 48 lbs down and will never let myself back into the 170s again, let alone the 200s.
My highest weight ever was probably about 225, in Grade 9, and it took me two months of Slim Fast to leave the 200s, and a summer of exercising and dieting to drop down to 175-180. Credit goes to my teenage metabolism at the time for letting me drop all that so quickly!
Good luck getting out of the 200s, and I hope that once you reach onederland, you never turn back!
Hmmm. You actually sent me back to my journals to look this up.
As a former eating disorder sufferer, who weighed herself three times a day, and agonized over every pound difference, when I tried to lose the weight for good & to do it in a more healthy, sane manner, I tried not to fixate on the numbers. I just told myself that each Friday, when I got on the scale, I wanted it to be a little less. I had no timeline or goals by certain dates. I would not let myself think about 50 pounds or 100 pounds or whatever to go. My goal was this: Less. Whatever the amount, at any rate, I'd be better off than I had been when it was more.
I do not think this works for everyone, but I think I needed to do it that way.
So now, checking my journals, I can tell you:
On Feb. 12, 2007, I weighed 245 pounds
On July 20, 2007, I reached 199
On Feb. 15, 2008, I reached 156 pounds
On July 25, 2008, I weighed 145 pounds
On Feb. 13, 2009, I weighed 143.4 pounds
On July 31, 2009, I weighed 141.4 pounds.
On Feb. 12, 2010, I weighed 148.5 pounds -- but I was actually smaller than in July in the arms, waist & thighs because of diligent work with dumbbells, Pilates classes & yoga classes.
I started around 250 and got to Onderland after 6 months.
I've lost about 75 lbs total in 2 years but am kinda stuck where I am. I haven't been as focused as before but am happy I've maintained my loss so far.
I started at 220, and it took me about 4-5 months to get to onderland. Right now I'm at 166. I've been maintaining for over a year, so it took about 15 months to drop 54 pounds.
Right now I am 223, down from 238 that I was in December. 15 lbs. I should lose another 1lb this week since I'm sick and have still been consistent with my weight loss.
Hi, I'm at 164 lbs. and it took me 6 months to lose 60 lbs. I count calories and exercise. That's it. I have a binge eating problem, so if I binge, I try to get right back on the program as soon as possible. Sometimes, the binges can last 2 days and they're miserable, but I try to just make it work for me by looking at it as calorie cycling. I'm closer to my goal, so my loss might slow down, but my exercising is pretty intense so I hope not. I wish you the best of luck.
In 2006 I weighted 253 lbs -at this time, I was desperate to get pregnant, so I worked very hard and got down to 193. That took approx. 7-8 months, and I did end up getting pregnant!! When my son was 14 months old, I weighed 233 and got pregnant again by surprise. I delivered my new baby in July of 2009 and at that time I was up to 275!! When he was 3 months old I was at 250, and that's when I decided to start getting back on track. My husband was diagnosed with diabetes at the time, and so we started on this journey together. That was about 5 months ago, and I've lost 40 lbs and my husband has lost about 80 lbs!!!
I started off in December 2009 at 250, and I am down to 210 right now. The scale keeps jumping up and down from 209 to 210. I am doing calorie counting, exercising, and nutrition meetings with a dietitian. I have a follow up with dietitian every two weeks. She's tracking my weight loss, exercise, and diet. She makes sure I am eating enough of certain vitamins etc. I am trying my best to get back into Onederland.

261-189. I kinda started in May 09, maybe lost 10 pounds. I really didn't start until August. In August, I reaaaally started, and I'm down to 189 now.
I am on the South Beach Diet, and usually eat 1200-1400 calories per day. SBD doesn't count calories, but I am on a medication (which I started in August) which has a side effect of loss of appetite, so I count calories to make sure I get at least 1200 calories a day.

I weighed 224 on 12th August 2009 when I restarted dieting. Now I'm at 186, having taken off 38lb over 7 months. Over the last couple of months the weight loss has slowed down slightly, but it's still moving in the right direction. I hope to get to 174 around May, but if it takes a bit longer, that's fine as long as I get there and can stay there!
October 2008-238 lbs. Now am 175. Taking my time, not beating myself up. Enjoying the progress. I have never gained weight and I don't always eat well or exercise, so I am happy.
