My mum has put the idea in my head that if i don't lose it by the time i'm 25 i will never lose it.
Your post hit a nerve with me! You won't hear me say this often, but please don't listen to your mother about this! From the time I was about 11 or 12, my mother told me that I was too big to wear shorts or a bathing suit. She said that if I could just lose a "few" pounds, I would be a good size. Because of that, I saw myself as a fat person but looking back at old pictures I was not fat at all. I would have been so much better off if she had given me shorts and encouraged me to be active. The power that we mothers have!

You certainly can lose weight after 25.

Now back to the original question, my advice would be to just eat reasonably. I understand not wanting to ask your host to change their meal plans. In my humble opinion, eat as healthy as possible, avoid junk and sweets and you will be fine.

Good for you! It's so hard to get back in the right mindframe but when you do it makes you realized what you really want to be doing and how good it really feels.

In the past I have always fallen off the wagon and never gotten back on. I'm prepared this time and so when I fall off this time ( and I know I will) I at least have a plan in place to get back on.
