Alright ladies,

Thank you for all the support and great advice. So it's been almost a week and I quit smoking!!!! Yaaaaaay!! I'm very happy to say that I am no longer a slave to cigarettes.

But........ I managed to gain 6 pounds IN A WEEK. All my hard work. Sigh.
I knew I would flip out if I tried to limit what I ate this week. I think the only time I was somewhat in a good mood was when I was eating cake, which I ate...more than once.

But it's okay! I'm no longer a smoker! And I'm happy about that! But now I have to get back on the wagon and it's going to be harder to lose this time.
But if I can quit smoking, I can do it!

Bravo! Nicotene is just about the most difficult addiction to overcome. If you can do that, you can certainly lose weight.

Plus you have just done the single-most important thing you can do to improve your health. Congrats!

Congrats!! Yeah, that gain must be a total bummer, but it's good to hear you're concentrating on the positive. Are you noticing a difference in your workouts (i.e. can breathe better, etc)?

I'm not really sure yet, I noticed I go crazy on my bike and ride like a bat out of ****, but I think that's more of an aggression thing. I feel like it's hard to think anything is better because of what nicotine does to your brain. It keeps telling me that everything is awful and is never going to be okay again. I know it's untrue, but, it just puts a damper on every aspect of life. Except for cake.

Thanks bacilli!
I have to be crazy to have quit smoking the week I had severe PMS. I think that's why I ate so much. I also broke a few dishes on the tile wall in the kitchen. THAT was very satisfying.

I don't know, when your body tells you enough is enough, sometimes you just have to listen. When you're a smoker, the inspiration to quit doesn't come very often. So I just grabbed at it while it was there, and did it, pms-ing or not!
