That happened to me today. We were out running errands and, thanks to crappy planning on my part, ended up at a fast food restaurant for lunch. It tasted crappy and then within half an hour I ended up with stomach pain that lasted through the afternoon. I used to have problems with IBS which has gotten a lot better lately, but apparently eating crap (after eating healthy for a long time) was enough to make it flare up again. Lesson learned the hard way for me, I guess.

That's true for me too...but I think it isn't as new as I'd like to think. At my heaviest and worst eating I didn't feel great a lot of the time. I think I just took it for granted that this was "normal".

Now that I feel good most of the time I am very aware when I don't. (And very able to track it back to the indulgence I once took for granted.) Very rich or greasy foods and overeating are leading to discomfort. I'm really trying to focus on that when I'm tempted.

I eat Amy's stuff too from time to time--particularly like her ethnic dishes. They are great to use in a time pinch.

Ugh! Yes, I have totally noticed a difference in what I can eat. Last week I ate a and I seriously felt physically ill for 2 days. Bloated, races to the bathroom, everything. Just makes you wonder how much stress I was putting on my system when I ate like that all the time! Yuck!

I have to say that I wish fast food had the same effect on me, but it doesn't. I have been eating clean for a while but if I have a burger or something similar once in a blue moon, I don't suffer from any gastro-intestinal consequences.
In fact, I had a burger this past Sunday (and sweet potato fries) but it was in a restaurant. I originally wanted to order something healthier but everybody else went for the burger and since I was desperate to get out as soon as possible (a long drive home) I hoped that our order will arrive faster if we all ordered the same stuff.
I don't know if a restaurant burger is any better than a fast food joint burger - probably not. I enjoyed the burger and the fries and I was fine afterwards.

Happens to me too. I eat junk now & I pay for it for two days. I'm still paying for the chinese food I ate on Tuesday. Just goes to show you how awful some of the things we didn't think twice about eating are for you.

I think there's a big difference between most restaurant burgers and fast food burgers. I eat a burger at a restaurant every now and then. And I even make burgers at home every now and then. But when I eat a fast food burger, it's just not the same. I don't get *sick* ... but I can't finish a whole Sonic burger any more and I just can tell afterward that I've eaten something not great.

Everytime I slip and eat something that is junk ( like pizza... or something else like that )

My stomach REALLY hurts and hope this isn't too discriptive but I get the runs, and it feels like now if I eat junk I really do suffer later for it.

Is this just because the months of healthy eating my body is basically almost rejecting this food and knowing it is crap? Lol... if you know where I'm coming from I hope this makes sense.
This happened to me-I gave up fried foods and hadn't eaten them in about 8 months. Then I had something fried-stomach cramps for an hour or more. My tummy just couldn't handle the grease I think.
