Default Oprah Vegan Menu

I don't watch Oprah but I know a lot of people do, she has a pretty good menu going on for her 3 weeks of veganism.

I don't think I could do a diet that has so little food and no snacks. Even if I could, I would probably gain the weight right back after feeling so deprived. Am I missing something?

I'm not sure if Oprah is eating snacks between her meals and I don't think she says but I also don't know the size of the servings of her meals. Although I looked at the black bean cakes and she says 30 ozs of beans for 4 servings, which comes out to about 8 ozs of beans which is pretty filling. The same for 1 lb of tofu for 4 servings with the tofu scramble. I've made tofu scramble before and 1/4th of the recipe is a lot and really filling.

I tend to eat larger portions though and lots of snacks

I think her menu looks fine, I'm assume the quantities are reasonable to make sure she meets her caloric target (whatever that might be).

If she ends up liking the diet, that will be great publicity for veganism!

I wonder if I could lose weight if some classically trained chef would follow me around and cook vegan for me forever. :-)

(Who me, jealous, what are you talking about???)

Yeah, if I had a lot of money (and I mean a lot), first thing I'd do is hire a vegan chef. Sadly, I don't think that'll ever happen so I guess I'll just keep doing what I do

Maybe you could just con Oprah into hiring you as her life coach, since she's always looking to improve her life (her life seems kinda, pretty good to me ..... meow, saucher of milk with that??) .. and then you can persuade her that she needs to BE vegan and THEN you can get that guy to cook for youse two all the time.

No? Yeah, I guess I'll just keep doing what I do as well. (I always use that darn carrot. I love that guy, he's so happy)

I was very happy when I heard about Oprah doing the vegan thing. It gets a really bad rap sometimes but if Oprah says it's ok then people will be more willing to accept people doing it and maybe even try it. It can only make the world a healthier place!
Darby, go Yankees!!!!

Thanks for sharing the link. I did not watch the show. I thought it was going to be about cosmetic makeovers. Ok where is the slap your own head icon? LOL

After reading about the 21 day detox I think I may do it. I need something to get myself back on track with my eating, this may just be the kick I need. I'm going to start my 21 days on Tuesday so I have time to hit the grocery store and once all the cookouts this weekend are done.
