Default Choosing Healthier Chippy/Chinese Takeaway

Each week we have "Chippy" night. I know having a take-away isn't exactly good for you but its only once a week & its our treat/free meal from a friend who pays for it (the free bit is the most important as I'm on a very tight budget )

Anyways, last week I got a copy of the menu for the place where we go and I've looked into the unhealthy options and scrapped a lot of the choices already as well as the ones I know I don't like. Now I'm left with the following but was wondering if anyone could help me narrow it down a bit more? I know that chicken is healthier than beef, but I don't want to live on chicken meals and soups!

Almost everything served with rice can also be served with chips and I think "Special" just means different meats used instead of one. The pies are Holland ones!

I have left:

Fish
Chips
Salt & Pepper Chips
Chop Suey roll

You obviously know what will work best for you, but what I like to do is go lower on points during the week and then have a blow-out at the weekend without worrying about counting points. I'm wondering if you could do this to incorporate your takeaway night? Doing that has several advantages - you don't feel like you're missing out because you're still getting to have your favourite foods, which makes it more sustainable long-term too, but also there's evidence to suggest that varying your calorie intake like that keeps your metabolism on its toes as well. I know this has worked for me in the past and I'm hoping it will this time too. The other thing is that certainly with WW chow mein is easily the lowest in points, but sometimes you just don't want chow mein; you want to be able to vary it. This way you can treat yourself without any guilty feelings because you're not going off your plan; just tweaking it to work around you.

why dont you get whatever you like but then to reduce the calories cook your own rice/chips to go with it, therefore you will get to have something nice like the curry or whatver and not all of the calories because all the rice and chips are done in a ton of fat and salt and everything
