Default Thanksgiving Challenge menu, chat, and food diary thread for 10/31 to 11/6

Good Morning ladies
Well for most of us today will not be easy....I know that it is, well as my kids call it (eatfest2005) I always let my kids eat as much candy and junk as they can handle today, even make biscuits and gravy for their breakfast and usually it is an egg or oatmeal or even cereal, so they feel a little spoiled today I didnt have any B&G I will have an egg because the hubby is off today and taking me to the mexican resteraunt, so I better save the calories for that....now I will try to be good tonight, but if grandma makes pie..........well lets just say, I will eat a slice Hope everyone has a safe night, and be sure to remember to pray for all the little guys tonight, it isnt as safe as it used to be.

Wont journal today...but took a walk this morning

OK - I was blessed this week. I lost when I thought for sure I would gain. It's possible that the gain from bad choices will happen this week, but I at least can combat it with good choices going forward.

I got a bag of candy at work yesterday, and I was so proud that I didn't eat it and saved it for my teenager. I got home, and teenager had already left for a friend's house. He came home later, and I gave it to him. He said he was already full of candy and didn't want it! I ended up eating it all, but it was only 5 or so snack-size candy bars.

Food Diary for Today:
B - 1 c plain yogurt, 1 banana, ½ c Kashi cereal, 1 T almonds
L - ½ vegetable moussaka, ¾ c cooked vegetables (probably with some fat on them), 2 small pieces of bread with olive oil and myzithra cheese)
S - 2 snack-sized candy bars (dang Halloween leftovers)
D - 1 hamburger, 1 oz bleu cheese, 1 bun, 1 c cooked green beans

This Week's Goal: I've GOT to get back to drinking water regularly.

Default More Restaurant Food

Ugh, today was another big lunch. It was my farewell lunch at Romano's Macaroni Grill. I'd looked at a menu ahead of time, but their healthier choices seemed too similar to the healthy choices I'd made at other restaurants recently. I used my other skinny-eating tactic - I sat next to my coworker who is known to be super healthy, and I did something similar to what she did. There's a build-your-own pasta deal, and I chose whole-wheat penne, olive oil/pesto dressing, mushrooms, spinach, tomatoes, and chicken.

B: coffee with milk (woke up late and was rushed)
L: 1 piece bruschetta with prosciutto, 1½ pieces of small crispy bread with 2 T shrimp-artichoke dip, 1½ c salad w/1 t balsamic vinaigrette dressing, ½ pasta entree mentioned above.
D: white chicken chili and vegetables

I'll post this here as well

I had a very stressful day and I fought the urge to eat CONSTANTLY!

I mixed the following into a "stew" and ate it with 1 sprouted grain tortilla (150 Calories, 3g Fat, 6g Protein, 5g Fiber, ):

1 cup steamed asparagus
2/3 cup cooked carrots
4 oz. soy tempeh (215 calories, 8 g fat, 20 g protein and 12 g of fiber)
1 cup cooked split-peas (prepared in water with the fresh herbs below)
2 T fresh herbs (rosemary/sage/thyme/parsley)
1 T garlic paste

1 Veggie Bowl from Chipotle:
3/4 cup fresh tomato salsa (raw tomatoes/onions/jalapeno/cilantro)
1/3 cup corn salsa
2 T hot salsa
1/2 cup guacamole (125 calories, 12 g fat, 4 g protein, 6 g fiber)
1/2 cup rice
1 1/2 cups black beans
1 cup chopped romaine lettuce

1 cup soy milk with 2 tsp. "Pero" coffee substitute (roasted barley malt and chicory) (120 calories, 12 grams protein, 3 grams of fat, 2 grams of fiber)

I am just about at my fat/calorie limit so , I'll just use my juicer and have the following for dinner:

4 carrots, 1 cucumber, 2 beets, 6 stalks celery, 2 T ginger
1/2 sprouted wheat pita (90 calories, 6 g protein, 5 g fiber)
2 oz. seitan (150 calories, 34g protein, 1 g fat, 4 g fiber)
1/2 cup mixed baby greens

and a total of 1 gallon water all day long

I am proud of myself for staying within my calorie and fat limits even though the urge to stress eat was there all day

Oh, thanks! I feel better about my day now...I have been avoiding high-fat foods like guacamole and even soy milk and tempeh, but today I really feel like I needed the protein and fats, so I allowed myself to have them and I actually stayed within my limits!

Chicken soup sounds delicious, India! Hope you feel better ... I need to "veg" out this weekend too ... weigh-in is Monday.

Friday Food:
B - skipped (another stressful emotional situation)
L - 2 c leftover pasta entree from Thursday, 1½ c mixed-green salad with 1T dressing
D - 1 c mixed fruit, 3 oz cheese, 1 chicken wing, 1 bbq rib, 2 small cheesebreads, 1 glass of wine
S - 1 handful trail mix, 1 nonfat latte with sugar-free flavor shot

Dinner was the free appetizer buffet at my work farewell happy hour. For once, a buffet didn't result in me being uncomfortably stuffed!
