This will be short tonight. After work, Wayne & I went and got car insurance with another company. Much cheaper then what we were paying I might add!! Then when we got home, I cooked, washed dishes and washed 2 loads of clothes. Time for a shower & bed!!! I'm tired!
Gayle-I'm debating on whether to post on the weight thread or not. I just go up and down, so I don't want to get anybody else down by gaining and losing. Sound silly? I know what I mean, I just can't put it into words.
Oh SHELLEY!!!! We ALL go up and down!!!!!!! I just thought it would be cool to put pounds lost....WE ARE NOT GOING TO CALL OUT THE "POUNDS LOST PATROL" IF YOU GO UP A POUND OR TWO!!!! :-)
You should be proud of your 20 pounds lost!!!
Boy, it looks like everyone is low carbing here in one way or another.
BEST OF LUCK TO ALL!!!!
I had 2 non-scale victories yesterday:
First off, Steve told me I need a new pair of capri's, he said mine are getting baggy.
Then I went in for a haircut and the girl right away mentioned it looked like I had lost weight.
I hope all is well with everyone. Janice, keep us informed about your surgery please.
Well, I've lost 5 pounds during my first four low-carb days. I hope I can stick to it over the week-end (week-ends are ALWAYS rough for me!!). I also hope I'm eating enough. I don't know how to tell, really. I'm not hungry, so I'm hoping it's all good.
My niece is home from the "hospital" and supposedly all is well. I don't know about that. The family is not really talking about it, and--as awful as this sounds--I'm really not sure I want to know. It's kind of like watching a natural disaster, you have to look but you really don't want to--something just draws your eyes to it. I can't explain it any better than that. Well, I'll try, I want to be there for if she needs me, but I don't want to make a point of letting her know that I know what she did and, in the process, make her feel even worse. I hope y'all can understand what I'm trying to say.
Dee--I hope hope hope Larry stayed away from Houston. On the local news last night (and I'm sure all over America) they were showing the Houston airports and how crowded they were--people were waiting in excess of 14 hours to get a flight. The interstates were also backed up for miles and miles.
Gayle and Sherry--thank you jointly for starting that weigh-in thread. I hope you won't get mad at me if I weigh in more than once a week sometimes. I won't do it every week, I promise.
Janice--I hope you get your surgery scheduled soon and don't get a run-around. I also hope that after you have it you have some relief. Are things any better for you on the home front? I've been thinking of you.
Sherry, I have a question for you. Last night during class my professor was telling us about some kind of writers' conference that's going to be held in Nashville this year (it was in Memphis last year). It's supposed to be HUGE, with over 200 authors on site. Do you know anything about this?
Cheryl, you post as often as you like on the weight loss thread!
They lifewatched my cousin to a major hospital with bacterial specialist. His original staples from his surgery came out and caused infection gangrene) throughout his body.
Dee, I tried an really good cognac today. It is called Envy, it's made with cognac, french vodka and exotic fruits. Do you drink brandy?
Actually, good morning! It's 1:20 a.m. here and I just finished in the kitchen. I have soooo many people coming here tomorrow for the cook-out.I have done a lot tonight though. After work, I went to the Dollar store,Walmart, Kroger & Mapco. Then I fixed baked beans, deviled eggs, spinach dip & a cheese ball. I have the kitchen cleaned up and about to go to bed!
Tomorrow we will grill burgers & hotdogs. I'll make mac & cheese also. It's going to be a fun day!
Chris got home around 9:00 this morning. He drove 17 hours straight through. He slept most of the day. He came to my school around 3:00 and surprised me!! I hugged & hugged him!!!!!
I'll try to post over the weekend and say something to everyone. I must go to bed now.....
Sherry-You are too funny. BTW, should we all join you at the barbecue to welcome Chris?? Have a great time!
Gayle-Prayers to your cousin.
Cheryl-Whatever works for you in posting is the best way to do it. If it helps you to post your weight often, then I say go for it. I hope this weekend you can stay OP. Sending more prayers to your neice.
Larry got home friday afternoon. He didn't get done what he needed to. Houston was being evacuated so it was pretty stressful wondering if he was going to make it out. He was on stand by for a flight that was leaving at 10:55 and if he didn't make that flight he was stuck there because the airport was shutting down at 11:00. Fortunately he made it. I sure wouldn't have wanted him there because the phone lines usually go down and we wouldn't even know if he was ok. As it turned out Houston wasn't hit as hard as what they first expected. His job site was just a few miles from Galvastone. Guess he will have to go back there or to NY to get the info on the product they will be building.
I had a good time out at my sisters minus the stress of what was happenning with Larry. Today we are going back out to the lake for a bbq and bonfire and an over nighter. It is Larry's boss's birthday. We have prepared Grand Marnia (sp?) banana flaming crepes with whipped cream for sunday breakie. Our tempertures are getting cooler her, near freezing at night, so we will have to dress warm for the evening.
Gayle because of my meds I am only alloud a sip or two of alcohol. I am not a brandy drinker but Larry is. Envey does sound sinful though. Gayle you know that I will be praying for your cousin. That is pretty serious. I hope that you see improvement soon.
Sherry enjoy your cookout today and of course I know that you will enjoy being with Chris.
Cheryl way to go on the weight loss. You are doing great. This weekend ask yourself when you want something not on your program is it worth it, do I really want it that bad? When I have more time to post I want to talk about your surgery. I had both wrist done. Or did I mention that to you? I forgot, I know that I wanted to. And I would also like to encourage you to talk to your neice. You can not change the past so look at the future. She just needs some love and support. There is a good chance that it is a chemical imbalance that has caused this. If it is, it is something that she cannot control. It is tough to be around someone that is depressed but they really should be alone to much. Just being there for her could mean the world to her.
Shelley, hey skinny mini how was your run today. I am able to walk about a mile every other day. I can't wait til I can swim and do all the exercise that I want to.
We will be heading out soon so I better shower and get ready. Hope you all ehjoy your weekend as much as Sherry will.
Sher, did you cry when you seen Chris! I almost did just reading the posting! ENJOY EVERY MINUTE YOU CAN WITH HIM!
Dee, glad to hear Larry is safe & sound. Which brand of brandy does he prefer? I picked up a shooter of E&J and it tasted like poo-poo. Maybe brandy isn't for me. The cognac surprised me, I liked it!
Shelley, thank you for posting on the other thread. How is life treating you & yours???
Sherry - Have fun this weekend! I have been on Low Carb since Tuesday and haven't cheated at all. I like Low Carb because you never have to feel hungry, and because of the food you can eat it is very filling. I have lost 5 lobs as of this morning, but am not going to change my ticker until its been a week. Gayle enjoy your cookout, and keep warm. It is getting cool here now too. In the mornings I have to turn the heat on in the car.
Doug and I have done a lot of talking, and things seem to be working out. I just don't know how he could take off with his ex after being married to me for 16 years. It has sure taken a lot out of my self esteem. Oh Well" Life goes on!
I just don't know how to get past this, and trust him again. Any helpfull words from all you wise woman would be appreciated.
Janice-I haven't experienced your problem per se, but I have in other ways (drugs.) He will have to gain your trust back if possible. If he really wants to work things out, then trust will certainly be the issue. Prayers to you. Also great job on the low carb! Are you going to post on the weight loss thread?
Dee-I'm glad that Larry made it home okay. How was the bbq and bonfire? I bet it's beautiful there. It's still hot as can be here.
Gayle-Things are going well right now. Mike got his promotion on Friday. He is now a superintendant for America's First Homes. He didn't quite get the raise that he expected, but every little bit helps, considering this time 2 years ago there wasn't regular money coming in at all. At least now I don't feel so guilty about my car payment.
Sherry-How was the party? I'm sure you had a wonderful time since your baby was there!
Cheryl-How was the eating yesterday? Do know, even if you go off plan, you can pickup yourself immediately without any weight gain if you go back to your plan without guilt feelings. Last night, I ate more than I should have. On the weekends I have been eating a bit more. I had 3 cups of cereal dry. Boy, was it good!! I look forward to the weekends now that I have given myself that leeway of eating cereal.
