Default Can I substitute cottage cheese for ricotta??

I tried the ricotta dessert last night and while it was good I found the ricotta to be a tad grainy and this was the extra smooth. I was wondering if I could substitute with low fat cottage cheese instead?? I figured it would be creamier yet still give me protein to satisfy my hunger>

Sure, Harley. I think someone else tried that... I don't think they liked it, but ...

Default I use 1% Cottage Cheese

Instead of the ricotta all the time. I like to blend it in my mini food processer to get it really smooth.

The cottage cheese has less calories, more calcium, and it is way cheaper. Works for me. Cinnamon and splenda, maybe a little vanilla.

Last night for my dessert I had 1/2 cup cottage cheese, 1 tsp unsweetened cocoa, 1 tsp vanilla and 1 pkt spenda. YUMMMY!! Will try the cinnamon and splenda that sounds good as well.
