Good morning, Debbie, and I hope you have a thoroughly enjoyable day, however you decide to spend it.
Pearlrose, welcome back and I'm glad you had a nice trip!
My day starts with the hurdle of getting over the hump of a mammogram and ultrasound. Thank goodness it's scheduled for first thing this morning so I can get it over with and get on with my day. I have a thickening in my breast that we want to get checked out. My primary doctor doesn't think it's anything serious, probably just a benign cyst, but I'll rest easier once a specialist checks it out. I should get out of there in time to pick up Maggie from school for her orthodontist appt., and then get both girls ready with their gear for Pony Club, and then home for me.
I noticed yesterday in the midst of my travels that daffodils are blooming and the forsythia are ready to pop! Although yesterday we were running around in short sleeves and today we need to dig out our heavy jackets. But spring is on it's way!
I feel like drinking coffee too, Debbie. I'm glad you have a "day off" but am sure you'll fill it somehow.
Linda, the forsythia I brought indoors last week is about ready to pop but the daffies are still not even in bud - in fact they are barely up along the side of the house which is the warmest spot. I do hope the mammo is easy and has no worrisome results.
I have lots going on to "fill my day" which never seems to be a problem. Claire is coming over this morning with Food Box money for me to take with me when I go to do Pet Therapy at the Clinic this afternoon. Then I have to track down a woman who made out a memorial donation as $2k and then wrote "two hundred" in the written amount. She can't understand why I can't just change it and initial it.
My raised bed out behind the barn is now completely snow-free but is surrounded by a good 6 inches of melt. If I want to plant it with peas or chard, I'll need to wait a while or slosh out there in rubber boots. I think I'll wait a week because they say it will warm up a bit. The forecast is rain through to Sunday! I do want to put in a few seeds for podded peas - a little girl memory and not SB compliant. Maybe sugar snaps?
Time for another coffee and then get to organizing my house a bit. Michelle comes tomorrow but I have a 10 a.m. dental appointment in Kingston and won't have time to do my usual tidying before I leave.
Happy Hump Day to all - may it be just and easy slope!
Hi, Jennifer. Hope your day goes well and that tonight in uneventful.
Another rainy day here, we have several days of it, it's that time of they year. Just wish it only came with rain instead of hail and tornadoes in them.
Debbie I hope you enjoy your day off
Cottage here's to a good result from your mammo, I need to schedule my yearly check up and mammo, I am due.
Jekel shouldn't you be sleeping if you are working tonight?
Rose - We have weather warnings today too - possible hail and/or tornadoes tonight.
I worked out with my mom and trainer this morning, since we missed Monday. I'm going to spend a lazy day at home. Yesterday, when he was taking his mom for her weekly shopping, DH picked up the few ingredients I need for dinner tonight so I haven't even gone for groceries yet! I'm slowly scanning the genealogy materials we collected on our trip and adding them to DH's tree.
Thanks Pearlrose for the concern. I'm actually glad I woke at 6:30. Got an indoor bicycle ride in, cleaned the house, even mopped the floors (a true miracle) threw in a load of laundry, showered, blew out my hair (takes almost an hour it is so thick) and now having an OP lunch...oh packed my dinner for tonight too. I'm working the Yankee game. Granted we are just outside the stadium at our station, but close enough to hear all of the excitement. I go in at 4 and hope to be on my way home at midnight. Keep your fingers crossed for no rain delays. I wanted to get as much done today as possible. Tomorrow we might get a break from the rain and just maybe I will go for a real bike ride. There is a state park by my house that I can ride the perimeter which is a nice 3 mile loop. This way if the skies open up at least I am close to my car. Believe me it is no fun getting caught in the rain 25 miles away from your car. Thankfully the new bikes don't rust like the ones I had growing up.
Evening, chicks. I missed a lot of chatter this morning!
Cottage, hope your appointment went smoothly.
Debbie, did you manage to fill your day?? I'm guessing "yes".
Jennifer, my fingers are crossed.
Ruth, it was nice to think we would only get rain but the fluffy, white "rain" is currently 2-3 inches high on the deck right now. It should melt tomorrow.
