Good morning ladies. My friend Amelia and I will be meeting up. I've lost 17lbs in 18 days! It's fathomless or it would be if I didn't have support and work so hard!
Good work, Opie, although that's pretty fast. Thanks for starting us up. I'm glad you put "chat" in the title. Several Newbies have complained about not being able to find the daily and that helps.
Well, I did get my new machine and some fabric in my flying trip to town. Now I am holding myself back from trying my new toy until I am caught up on domestic stuff. I have decided to keep the other machine as this one is very heavy. It came with one of those wheeled carry-cases but the old one is lighter to take to quilting classes.
Another t-storm last night so there was no moon-gazing. It even knocked out TV reception halfway through Grey's Anatomy! The dogs refused to go off the deck when I insisted they go out but there were no puddles in the back room this morning. That's a good start for today.
I'm planning a short trip to town today for the odds and sods I didn't get yesterday. The weekend is looking pretty full and time is getting short. I may even pack my suitcase in advance instead of five hours before plane time.
Good morning Ruth. You've got good self-control, it would be very hard for me to wait to play with a brand new machine!
It's pouring here this morning, the rain on the roof woke me before the alarm did! The rain is supposed to bring warmer weather with it though, so I'm looking forward to a nice weekend. I'm heading to my mom's right after school today. Tomorrow is her birthday. I'm hoping we'll be able to spend some time in the kayaks and/or walking.
Our field trip to the apple orchard yesterday went very well. It was cool and windy but we were dressed for it and everyone had a great time. I had no trouble escorting kids up and down the hill to the bathroom and I even took a few turns at Duck Duck Goose during our lunch break. I had one student who was so very naughty all day that I wanted to stuff him in my backpack to keep him out of trouble , (I believe he was showing off for the parent chaperones). But all in all it was a really great day.
Now I'm looking forward to a really great Friday!
Enjoy your day my friends.
Okie, that's an impressive loss! I hope you are eating enough and making sure you're getting all your nutrients and vitamins in. Have a good time with your friend today.
Ruth, what's happening this weekend to keep you so busy? I hope you enjoy your new machine and it's not too complicated to run. Do you plan to check out some new quilting material while in town?
Heidi, it sounds like you all had a fun day at the orchard. I hope you have a great day today, and have a safe drive to your mother's. Please wish her an early Happy Birthday from me.
It was a clear night last night and we were able to observe the Harvest Moon with no trouble. We sat outside until almost 10pm since it was such a warm evening. Today it's supposed to get up to 92*. It seems like summer isn't ready to leave, yet.
I'm going to give the house a good cleaning this morning, and plan to head to Trader Joe's afterwards. I just love their brand of peanut butter and I'm fresh out. Then I'm hoping to sit out on my chaise lounge on the patio and read the rest of the afternoon.
Linda, I'm definitely checking fabrics in town today. After all, I need to go to the quilt shop to register for a class. The weekend is full because I have a charity breakfast tomorrow morning, a bazaar to attend in the afternoon, dinner out, Church on Sunday with a special speaker and coffee and will be working a Church supper for our sister congregation in Athens. I also need to make a mega-stew for the guys who will be working on the porch roof at the museum on Monday. "No flies on me!"
Heidi, it must have felt really good to put your new body through its paces yesterday. I guess you got the remains of our t-storm this morning. I do love wakening to the sound of rain. My front porch roof is just outside my bedroom window.
A little spatter of rain just moved through but the prediction is quite warm and sunny for the rest of the day. Bring it on!
Thanks for getting us started, Okie, and congrats on your loss, so far! I hope to see you later.
Ruth, I can't believe it's time for your cooking trip! My bro has gone for a cooking holiday in Italy more than once, and absolutely loves it!
Heidi, I'm sending an early birthday greeting to your Mom if I forget tomorrow. It's hard to imagine a kindergartener already getting in trouble-I think of your kids as little innocents.
Linda, your day sounds very inviting! I hope you actually find your way to the chaise lounge!
Me, slept in again, so I'm going to try to get a few things done before heading to the pool. I spent most of yesterday in a workshop w/DH for brain injury survivors...discussing organization and finances. Then we got home and he wanted to discuss our budget...another 3 hours. At least he found out we don't have as much money as we think.lol I really hope I can get something accomplished today. I did stay OP yesterday, which is a great accomplishment! I packed my own lunch, fortunately.
Fly by today because I am going to ... fly bye Off for a family thing in Boston. Two long travel days and one day in the middle to visit. I'll have the laptop so will try to check in.
Good morning everybody. Just heading off to bed and thought I'd pop in and say hello. Missed yesterday's chat thread. Hope you ladies all have had a good few days. It's the weekend for me now...whoo hoo!!! Here's to hoping I don't get called in!!!
I'm not too happy but I'm not gonna let the latest incident derail all my good work! My mother remarked that I was too big when we were in the kitchen, she's fat too! Oil spilled because we were in a tight space. I said "u're big too, then she said I was stupid". That got me heated and my spineless, good for nothing father just stood there! I'm waiting for the repercussions from this outburst. Thanks for the congrats!

Good morning chickies! Less than 24 hours and I will be off on my way to the beach! I hope we get a nice rental car... I reserved a midsized car... My MIL went to fl and just went to the rental counter asked about their specials and they gave her a neon green camaro with a black racing stripe for 15 bucks. lol, that would be cool but dh says no- not comfortable for that much travel! oh well....
I have tons of stuff to do today... not sure why the heck I procrastinate sooo much! Its like since being off work I have no concept of a timeline for accomplishing things- not that I did when I was working but more so than now! Oy. well, I better get with it, the laundry won't do itself(unfortunately)
Hi! Just checking back in....helpful when I want to eat something not on my food plan for the day! I picked our last cucumbers but we still have lots of tomatoes-Kirk is picking now. I'm baking since we're serving refreshments at church on Sunday. Lovely weather...I even got on my bike.
Karen, hope your travels were stress free!
Natasha, Happy Weekend!
Okie, I hope you have taken some deep breaths and calmed down. It's dangerous ground when I get really upset. Stay OP K?
Rikki Have a great time! I hope you got all your chores done.
Ok, back to my list! I think it's officially the weekend here!
