Good snowy morning chicks. We got a few inches, and it's still coming down, but Baltimore and Washington got hit much harder than us for a change. Kids are home and DH attempted the drive but the highway wasn't clear yet and the folks on the ship said it was much worse down there (Baltimore), so he's back home for the day too. Everyone gets a snow day but me. When you telecommute, snow is not an acceptable excuse!
I'd hoped to have the house to myself and set up on my new living room easy chair to work with the laptop. Well, there's always tomorrow. by the way they forgot to give us the back legs to the couch, so it's kind of slanty right now, I sure hope they can find them at the warehouse!
I've got a crockpot of Cyndi's refried beans and I'm using Mayocoba beans for the first time. I love my beans and it's exciting to find a new (to me) kind to try. Other than that I have no idea what's for dinner, so I'd better get on that.

Good morning chicks, seems like I haven't been here in forever! We have been so busy painting our LR and shopping for a new sofa and recliner and just life in general that it seems many things have slipped lately!

Add to that DS is home for spring break and things are just a little crazy right now!

We did take small break and stopped at the Casino on our way back from picking DS up. Actually walked out $600 ahead, not bad for a last minute decision to go!

Hope everyone is doing well, stay safe if you are getting that snow!

Hiya Chix

Ooo it's a busy board today...well seein all you chix are off with the snow. As I'm only on my afternoon tea break I'm limited to personals but all you chix in the snow be careful and stay warm! My mom always made bean soup with the left over ham bone from Christmas. She would freeze it special for snow days and would whip it out for bean soup. I miss those days...sigh

Ah well...it's buzzin here and I better get off my duff before the customers start climbing over the counter....take care! TTFN, dollies! xo

Cottage and Cyndi- I hope you enjoy the your beautiful snowy day! I wish, just like once a year I could experience the stuff! since moving just an hour west of where we used to live we see probably 10x less snow! and I can't believe I am saying this but... I miss it!!! lol

M3S- good for you for jumping right back on the wagon! Stay warm today!

Ruth- enjoy your quilting meeting! I am sure you made a lot of people happy by checking out your logs!!!

Steen- nice to meet ya! I agree, the time couldn't possibly go by faster these days!!!

Twynn- I am looking forward to being able to exercise outside as well, but I guess I'll just have to drag my butt to the gym today...

littlechick

Kim- do you need a personal servant? lol... maybe you could just plug the coffee pot next to your bed! lmao...but then you'd still have to get up to go to the bathroom... hmmmm, maybe just the laptop in bed will do lol

Laurie- hope you have a good day! and don't forget that comforter!

Diva- you look familiar, I am sure I have seen you on here before so... welcome back?! Enjoy the alone time!

Schmoodle- I have never heard of those beans- let us know how they turn out!

Stacy- I always seem to let my laundry get backed up!!! Good luck on catching it up!

Pacer- been a while! Glad ot hear all is good!

elusive dont work too hard today!

Me- Well, not a whole lot going on today here... we were supposed to have our tile delivered today but looks like it will be at least another week before we can get it... which is fine since we won't be able to lay it until later in the month with our chicago/milwaukee trip coming up I don't really want to leave the house a mess all that time! BTW, I am hoping to see some snow while we are up there!!!Im not telling dh that though :P So the agenda today is a couple loads of laundry, gym, lowes for a grow light and possibly foyer light, make some black bean and tomato salad, ummmm... I think thats about it! I can't believe my lists of to-do are so short lately! I guess I shouldn't complain!!! Have a great day everyone!

DH is sorry he stayed home I think LOL. I showed him where I noticed when I was cleaning yesterday that the sink bowl in the bathroom is cracked, so we'll need a new sink. Then I suggested that while the sink is out, we replace the floor which is gross. And I need to paint, so this is a good time - ya know, when the sink is out of the way. Plus there is a baseboard radiator in there that is rusting, so we may as well replace that while we're at it, right? Just trying to be efficient...

We love our new dog with one exception. He is definitely not housebroken! I had quite a mess to clean up this morning but at least the house is tiled. I'm planning to get him a crate today so he can stay in that overnight until he is trained and other than that I guess he'll have to be in the backyard if we aren't home.

We weren't told to keep him quiet but he naturally seems to be a calm dog. I have read up on heartworm treatment now and I'm going to make sure we don't give him too much exercise until our vet says it is okay.

Snow day for me too. It's so windy outside that it's hard to tell how much. There is a clear space right by my car and a high drift in the middle of the driveway. Why can't the wind just blow the entire drive clear???

Not thrilled that the plow guy who does the farm across the street pushed their snow directly across the street blocking half of my driveway with a huge mound. What an idiot...he also blocked the cluster of mailboxes for the five houses which means definitely no mail for me today.

Well, thanks for letting me vent. I'm now trying to convince myself what wonderful exercise getting rid of the snow from a 50' driveway (and that mound) will be. NOT! LOL Have a great day everyone and stay safe to those who venture out on snowy roads.

p.s. Those of you who have sun & warmth, please send some our way!

Hi there! I'm back!! My life is back on track, finally! DH is keeping his job!! I am still not working, but enjoying my time as SAHM for now. My fog has lifted and I have returned to a happy place. I have been spending a lot of time working out. I even started running outside on the days it isn't terribly cold. My eating hasn't been exactly OP, but with the working out, I managed to hold firm on the weight and lose a few inches. I'll take that! Time to jump back in feet first. I am Day 1 Phase 1 today.

We finally got a new computer, so my shiny new laptop will help me return to 3FC more easily. I realized how much I need this site to stay on track!

Kim - I gave up coffee for Lent. My first few days I had the WORST headache! I was hooked! The withdrawl was horrible!! I have switched to tea, which is nice, but doesn't satisfy the coffee cravings.

Glad to be back in action! I have missed you all!

this is a general letter cuz i cant remember who said what lol... we crate trained Maggie... at first i was not for it, but now, its a blessing. she knows thats where shes to go... we say 'go to bed Maggie" and she goes! lol.. its comical. we have problems with the snow plow guys... you work hard to shovel your drive and they come along and block ya in... not nice lol.
well ive just started the 3rd load of laundry... about 5 more to go... with john and i and 5 kids living in the house, we can make a load or 2 easily in one day. i should know better. our brand new washer went on the frits back in nov.... had to go to the laundry mat after about 7 without it... i NEVER wanna do that again! what a pain in the rump!!.well... savvy's up from her nap... had an extra long first one today which means no more sleepin till bedtime... thankfully shes an excellent sleeper and goes to bed like a little princess. lol..have a good day on the beach gals...

Hope I am not butting in either since I still am not officially on the SBD again yet but I am getting there lol.

Finally snow here too and my sons school was closed. We were out in the back playing with the dogs and having snowball fights.. it was a blast. Then we went out front and I left the car out of the garage so we could have some fun with it and we sure did. I wish we got more snow, its so beautiful until it gets all yucky and nasty lol. So now we are back inside nice and warm and had grilled cheese and am just missing the tomato soup. Now is a good time for me to dust off the SBD book and figure out my plan. So nice to have my son home on such a beautiful day so I am of course making excuses. My nutrition appointment was cancelled bc of the snow and today is when I was supposed to tell her if I am picking nutriststem or SBD to go back on. I am about 95% sure I am going to go back on SBD. Anyhow have a great day everyone!

Thanks Zeff! What a huge weight that was lifted off our shoulders! The unknown was a scary place to be! Glad that is behind us.

My kids are off school today. I let them watch Jurasic Park yesterday, as I type, DS is acting like a T-Rex (If you have ever seen the movie, you would be shocked with his impression. He stomps and grunts like the T-Rex from the movie!) while chasing his sister around the house. She of course is shrieking and screaming as if there is a REAL dino chasing her!! ha ha
They have ideas of watching part 2 today. That should allow me to watch the Brothers & Sisters I taped last night. I can't wait!!

What is it with boys and acting like dinosaurs? DS likes to do the same. He stalks me, though Why are the kids off school? DH hates when Jurassic Park is on TV because I always tease him about looking like Jeff Goldblum.

I posted a youtube link of the new baby in yesterday's chat - it should be towards the end. He's gotten so big!

I'm just getting some housework done until DS1 wakes up from his nap. He has been wanting to go to Barnes and Noble to play with the trains for awhile now, so today we're going to take him. I also think I want to stop by the library on the way home.

We cut our cable this morning. The entire family watches far too much television and it's time to get back to the roots and enjoy time as a family doing other things rather than just sitting in front of the tv. It's an experiment...we'll see.
