Default shiratake tofu noodles anyone?

I think they would be more than fine on the plan but what do you guys think? they are made of tofu and yam flour, the yam flour being at the end of the ingredients. they have 20 cal per serving and 3g carbs, 2 fiber 0 sugars. I made them the other day with some green beans asian style and it was fabulous!!!

WHEAT AND GLUTEN FREE 8 oz package, 2 servings, 20 calories per serving, .05 fat, 1 gram of protein 3 total carbs 2 of those are fiber, 1 net carb per serving.

i think they are perfectly fine...i had them yesterday as part of an asian style stir fry with some tuna. it was really good, and i don't see any reason we shouldn't be eating them.

I've wanted to try these for a while now, but haven't found them yet. Are they expensive?

aw man. I posted a big post with links and everything and it got ate! arg!

I buy them at whole foods market.

here is the link___ so I can't add a link bc of too few posts but try house-foods.com

I prefer the thinner ones. I like the angel hair the best I think. They have a different texture than regular pasta but I think are great especially with asian food!

They are also kinda stinky at first when you open them, but don't let this spoil it for you! You have to rinse them then boil them a couple of minutes and rinse again! Then add them to your recipe! YUM!

I bought them online before and they were fairly cheap but shipping was more since they are usually refrigerated! Hope this helps!

If you've never tried them before, it's important to follow the directions the first time.

Someone told me once they tasted it before they cooked it and it was nasty and threw it out. It's tofu-of course it's nasty before you cook it. It doesn't have a good flavor on its own you have to add flavor as you cook it.

If you live in an area that has Asian markets you may be able to find it in their refrigerated section-usually around the strange packaged food items that most Americans don't recognize. In my area they are about $1.50 for 8 oz, which is 2 serving sizes. It's very good for portion control for those of us who have difficulty stopping. Becareful and check the expiration dates on them, I've found packages that expired several months ago in the cases at the store. (I always point it out to the clerks but who knows if they do anything about it)

Have fun exploring new foods.
