Although the dry roasted nuts are recommended, it's ok to have the regular kind, too. It's just that the ones cooked in oil are higher in calories. It's suggested to start with 1/2 cup beans a day, especially if you're not used to eating them often, because of their sometimes unpleasant "side-effects." If they don't bother you, go ahead and eat as much of them as you wish. And lastly, yes, store-bought hummus is allowed.
