  • I threw out all my maternity clothes today (donating the ones worth donating). Just had my 2nd and final baby in December and I have been keeping my maternity clothes "just in case" (fat clothes emergency). I decided I don't need them now! My size 18s are all getting big, all my 16s I can fit into now, they're just a little tight. Another 10 lbs and I should be able to get rid of my 18s! So excited because just a mere 7 weeks ago my 18s were all so tight I couldn't breathe in them and I had that really attractive enormuffin top (enormous muffin = enormuffin).

These type of things really motivate and make me happy.

What NSVs have you had this past week of May?
  • A shop assistant stopped me and complimented me on my weight loss saying she couldnt believe how different I looked......and then I went to a till yo pay for my lovely new size 12 (UK) jeans - a size I haven't seen since the early 90's!!

  • I was at work this morning and my co-worker said "Have you been losing a ton of weight?", I told her about 9lbs recently, she said "Well it looks like you've lost a lot more than that!!". I don't care how much it looks like I've lost, just that someone else has noticed!! Yay!!
  • Well, I don't have too many NSVs anymore since I stopped losing. But a person I hadn't seen in quite a while (apparently in about a year) came into my office last week while my back was turned to the door. He said he didn't recognize me from the back and his first thought was, "Did they get rid of Lin?" He then proceeded to tell me how fantastic it was that I lost the weight. It never gets old! LOL

It's this sort of thing that keeps me honest about what I'm doing every day. hanks for starting the thread. I love reading about how everyone is doing aside from the scale.

  • I just wore out (as in out of the house, not as in ruined) a pair of size 18 pants for the first time in about 8 years! Granted I think they may be a roomy 18, but it feels good nonetheless!
  • Earlier today my boyfriend hugged me and lifted me off the ground. It's something he hasn't done since we first started dating - before I gained all the weight I just lost. I wasn't in the air very long...but it made me feel good to be picked up. Not only that he could but that he wasn't afraid to try/wanted to. I can't wait til I'm small enough for him to hold up for longer than a few seconds!
  • Ran 3.2 miles without stopping. And for the first time I can remember, I went clothes shopping, picked out a bunch of clothes to try on, and had to get smaller sizes of every choice I made
  • I took off my pants without unbuttoning them!
  • Woke up this morning, looked myself in the mirror as I got undressed to take a shower, and thought I looked awesome. It's nice to be able to appreciate my body even while it's in transition!
  • I've just hit 25 pounds lost and it seems I'm getting a lot of NSVs all at once:
    1. I'm just beginning to be able to shop in "regular" stores.
    2. My saggy tummy (like... lower post-baby tummy flap thing) is much smaller than it use to be.
    3. My towel fits around me with no gap. Yes, it's a big towel but this wasn't possible before.

    Happy NSVs everyone!
  • Yesterday I was at the grocery store and a group of old friends completely ran into me(literally! lol) and not a single one recognized me! Its been about 2 or 3 months since any of them had seen me and even looking right at me they didn't know who I was
  • I just got my period! I've been getting my period regularly for awhile. Years ago, I would get so stressed out that I didn't have it for several months and I got worried that the consistent dieting since January would stop it, but nope it came this morning.
  • I had a guy I like call me beautiful and thin. Not even my ex boyfriends said that to me(which is prob where my selfesteem issues come into play in relationships) but hearing this made me happy
  • I saw a couple friends yesterday that I haven't seen since Christmastime, and they both said how great I looked, and how much smaller, too!

My fiancé picked me up today too. I can't imagine I was very light! But my knee is hurt and I was trying to get on our very high bed and he came up behind me and picked me up and set (plopped- I'm 247) me down on the bed. I'm lucky he's strong!
I haven't had many nsv at all I might try putting on my HW pants, but they were baggy when I got them so I'm not sure I'll notice a difference. I'm going home for the first time since I started, so maybe someone will notice.
I guess, though, that getting my eating in check every day and being on plan this whole time except for a cheat day here or there IS a NSV, so yay for me!
