Wow, I have to agree, find a new doc! To think onedoctor still has never heard of PCOS is amazing, especially a female doctor.
Please go to the link below and read about PCOS and please follow the links to learn all YOU can about PCOS, then maybe you can find a doctor that can help you. Did you see a general doctor or an ob/gyn? Please see an ob/gyn or endocrinologist. They should hopefully be more up to date. If you DO have PCOS you are at a higher risk of developing diabetes or heart disease, so please talk a friend or family member into getting you to a doctor. Meanwhile, you should try to avoid high sugar or high carb foods that can aggravate your insulin levels. Have you had your glucose/insulin checked lately? PCOS is about so much more than weight, and I hope your doctor can realize that.
