Default Dressing Room NSV!

Last week I hit the -30lbs mark (and since then, the -32lbs mark!) and I haven't had the easiest time really SEEING the change in my body as of late. I'm a college student and money has been tight this semester, so I really haven't had much extra money to go shopping with, but today I decided to pop into Wal-Mart and try on clothes to kill time before an interview. While there, I discovered that my pants size has dropped from a 26W to a 22W (still a 24W in some cuts of pants, for honesty's sake...but not for long!) and an insane 16W/1X in tops. I definitely don't remember being on the verge of not needing plus-size tops the last time I weighed 255lbs! I'm very, very much a pear-shape (45-36-54), but I feel like I've become much, much more of one as I've lost weight. I'm not entirely unhappy with my body shape, but I do hope that I even out and start losing more off my lower half! I also found it interesting that my bra size has changed from a 40D to a 38DD; I'm hoping this is a good sign that I'm losing back fat and not breast tissue? I know those are supposed to be "sister sizes," but the 40D just gives me no support anymore because the band is too loose.

The thing that ended up amazing me the most, though, was the fact that I DON'T HAVE ANY STOMACH HANGING OVER MY PANTS ANYMORE! Yeah, I still have a little flab at the bottom of my stomach, but its much less than I remember having the last time I was at this weight. To celebrate, I whipped out my camera phone and took a picture of myself in the size 16W shirt (rolled up) to show my stomach NOT hanging over my very-nearly-too-big size 24W jeans.

I've been having a really hard time not stuffing my face this week (during ToM, go figure) and I still have another 80 pounds that I want to lose so its been frustrating to feel like I'm sort of sabotaging myself, but today's dressing room experience motivated me to do a little bit of working out today, and will hopefully help me eat better tomorrow!

I'm so glad you found motivation in the dressing room! I will have to try that myself when I am struggling! Yay for you!

Yay!! Congrats!!!

There's nothing like that feeling in the dressing room when a size you didn't think you'd ever get into fits.

as far as the top vs bottom thing, I've found the proportions do get better.
at my highest I was 40/42/49, then 39/38/46....as of three days ago it was 35/34/36. so there's hope that it at least CAN even out, sometimes.

@atreyyena: Awesome! That is good to know and gives me hope that my hips and booty will fall in line with the rest of me in due time! =)

lol, well I'm glad I could help. Enjoy the process, it's definitely fun.

I finally feel like I'm starting to be at a place where I'm at a normal size. so I can understand the elation of new clothes.

also for the bra size the smaller your chest measurement, the higher your 'boob number' will be. like a girl who has a 46 chest and boobs that are 3 inches bigger might be a B, but one who's a 32 and 3 inches bigger might be a c or D. I know, I don't get bra sizes either.

I agree - you do have a very defined pear shape. I carry my weight in the same way. It can be frustrating. I always seem to lose weight around my hips and thighs last, where I need to lose it the most. (And from my bust very first. :| )

But, on the up side! I almost always have definition around my shoulders and neck line. It looks like you do too! You look like you have very slender shoulders.
