Default Portion size question

At my center they said for veggies I could do say a 4 oz salad and 2 oz cooked veggies for my lunch portion (half of each portion). How does it work if I want to have 2 oz of cheese - do I eat 3 or 4 oz of chicken?

Thanks for the help.

2 ounces of cheese or 4 ounces of chicken/protein or 8 ounces nonfat plain yogurt is what I have always done.

I think it would depend on what menu you are on. I'm guessing it is the biege which is 3 oz of cheese or 6 oz of chicken for a protein serving. So if you have 2 oz of cheese, that would be 2/3 of your protein serving so you could have the other 1/3 or 2 oz of chicken to have your full protein serving. Lunch is the only meal you can combine your cheese with other protein. You have to basically figure the percentage of each, because 2 oz of cheese and 4 oz of chicken is more than the protein serving on the biege menu. Hope this helps.

TeresaG - Yes that helps a lot Thank you. I guess I forgot it was 3oz of cheese so I could do 1.5 oz cheese and 3 oz of chicken and that would be my protein portion for lunch.
