Where do I shop now? Lane Bryant's it getting too big...
Ever since giving birth to DD I've been shopping at Lane Bryant. The cuts work really well for me in that they give a lot more room in the chest area than normal stores. I get a big part of that is vanity sizing, which is fine because the biggest thing was that the clothes fit well. Well... I went shopping last week to get a dress and while it fits it's definitely on the big size (I needed it for last weekend so it was ok for that) and it was already the smallest size there (14/16). However, I went to old navy afterwards and there's just no way their tops will fit because the bust size is minuscule in comparison. Pants will probably be fine but tops are going to be a serious pain...
Are there any stores that are good in between? I'm probably still about a 14/16 in non-vanity sizes but where can I go that's going to fit someone that is also pretty curvy? The dress I bought should've really been taken in in the waist but I didn't have time to deal with it... I need to get some more winter clothes soon so I'm not sure where to go!

So what did you get for the wedding.?
You came on here and asked for suggestions and people went web browsing for you and tried to give info with very little information about the event or your sense of style. But you never posted again. What kind of dress fits you now?
I suggest Macy's for best sales and brands.

I'm very busty, and I've never had luck at the Gap or Old Navy
I have started altering some of my bigger blouses, that has been a life saver for me. Nipping in the waste.
3x for Macy's!! But I do have to take some of theirs in, too.
Bra's are a nightmare for me, too. Lane Bryant starts at 40 (I'm a 38), and Macy's doesnt have a great selection over D's. I cant imagine ordering a bra on line.
Good luck to you!

I like CJ Banks and Macy's.
The CJ Banks at our local Mall has a better selection than they do online.

I ended up getting this dress: lanebryant.com/dresses-skirts/dresses/solid-goddess-dress/4031c13873p65192/index.pro?Mcatn=Dresses&Mcatpn=Dresses+%26+Skirts& Mcatg=category_root&Mcatp=cat_4031%406000&Mcat=138 73%406000
I was surprised because normally dress that are more fitted around the chest never work for me but this one actually did! That being said, dresses still don't make me look as good as pants and a t-shirt and I think I looked quite a bit bigger than I actually am in it (but the other ones there were much worse). The whole family got sick right before hand so I basically had very little time to shop and ended up going there the afternoon before.
And thanks everyone else for the Macy suggestions! It looks like we have one that is not too far away so I'll try it when I need to get my winter clothes. I haven't tried NY and company, Mandies, or CJ Banks, I'll see if they have one near by.
Gap and Old Navy used to be my go to stores and they still are fine for pants but shirts, no.
Blueflower- that's so funny that you said that because when I was at Lane Bryant's I actually picked up two bras in band size 38 (one was a DDD and the other was an F because my cup size changes during the day).

Haha, well, they never fit perfectly. I don't think that will happen until I lose more weight! But, yeah, I nurse still so when I'm at work I can wear a smaller bra size. But at home when she's still nursing I have to wear a larger cup size (and if she's sick/teething it could be even a larger one on top of that). It's crazy!
I'm sorry your local one doesn't carry 38's... but they do have a policy that they'll order them for you for free. Just ask them to ship to the store because you want to try them on first. I've had to do that because they don't always carry everything in the lower sizes at my branch either.

Don't completely rule out Target! I often find cute clothing there, and they have some plus sizes and they carry up to xxl in the misses line. I've found some great stuff!
