Hi everyone! It's very nice to meet you all!
I'm just getting started with my program (Gold) right now - in fact, today is my first day of doing the Take it Off juice and the low carb/low sugar/low fat/low everything two days *laughing* (It's not that bad, I'm exaggerating).
I've been dieting (unsuccessfully) for the last 11 years, since my oldest son was born. I never had a weight problem prior to having children (weighed 105 in high school), and bounced around between 130-170 lbs for 10 years. Then last year, inexplicably (okay, yes, I turned 30) I started putting on pounds and no matter what I did it didn't seem to help. Even my old standby, the low carb diet, wasn't working. I started running, got up to 10 miles a week (and hurt my knee, otherwise I'd still be running). Still nary a pound, my clothes still fit the same.
I went to the dr. to see whether maybe I had a thyroid issue - I had made so many lifestyle changes I just refused to believe that just because I turned 30 meant I had to be "overweight". I realized that I was only two chart squares away from obese (I'm 5'8"). I freaked. The doctor told me to "try weight watchers or something". I burst into tears. Here I was, working so hard, and all I was told was that I wasn't trying hard enough - that obviously the answer was something else. While weight watchers, I'm sure, is a worthy program, I have met many people on weight watchers and none of them seemed to really have made a life change.
I drove around town, alternating yelling (at the medical institution for being given the brush off) and crying. Okay yes, I was in my car with the windows up - I'm not that crazy
I came around the corner and came to an LA Weight loss center. I decided to sign up.
So, that's my "entrance" story. Thanks for reading! I'm here to learn from all of you and be able to keep my motivation high.
