Hello everyone. I'm new to the group so I thought I'd start by telling everyone a little bit about myself and my weight history.
I'm 25 years old and live in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I've been athletic all my life, as I played softball all 4 years in high school and 2 years in college. I was never ever considered "chunky" or "overweight", although obesity has run in both sides of my family.
After I quit playing softball, it just seemed like the weight wouldn't stop packing on. I gained about 75 pounds in the first 2 years that I wasn't athletic, going from 135 to about 210. I was devastated, and eventually got depressed, because I knew this just wasn't who I was. I didn't have the motivation to exercise anymore, and I figured I'd just have to deal with it.
My weight has fluctuated here and there, since then. I've tried numerous "crash diets" (Atkins didn't work for me, and neither did WW), and am now trying just to count calories (stay below 1000) and be physically active. I'm at 181 lbs. right now. I recently got married on July 14th, and after seeing some of my wedding pictures, I realized how bad I've gotten. I look so big, that I don't even want to show anyone my wedding pictures. I'm hoping I can get down to my original 135 lbs. I know it will be worth it!
