Default New and depressed

Hi! I'm new here. I'm at the highest weight I've ever been, so I'm looking for some support and inspiration from others who are achieving their goals. I've always been thin until I had a baby 2 years ago. I lost the weight quickly, but after I stopped breastfeeding I ballooned up to a weight I'd never thought I'd be at. I need to lose about 50 pounds to get to my healthy pre-pregnancy weight. I haven't been exercising and have been overeating so there's no big mystery as to why I am overweight. I just don't know how I let myself get here. I guess we all ask ourselves that at some point. Anyway, I'm here and will be counting calories and doing exercise DVDs at least 4 days a week. It's gonna be hard and I have very little willpower so I'm hoping this will help me stay motivated.

Good luck! Your story is very familiar. I've only gained weight after having kids. I wish I had tackled it after my first daughter. Time goes by quickly when you have kids. It sounds like you are on the right track. Stay focused. Don't be afraid to ask for help, especially if you start feeling down or overwhelmed. I found out recently that my vitamin d and b12 were low. I feel so much better since I've been supplementing, especially with my mood.

Welcome. Calorie counting is easier than I thought it would be. There are lots of apps you can use, or websites if you don't have a smartphone.

As for motivation, the goal stories are amazing and there are always weighloss/exercise based challenges you can jump in on for added accountability.

Your story sounds very similar to mine! Ive put on 48lbs since having my daugher two years ago. I rarely exercise and most of the time eat rubbish! Take it day by day. Good luck. Im sure we can all help each other xx
