Default Day 1...Back on the wagon...

8 years ago, I was 114 lbs. At 5' 8" that was thin...very thin. Maybe too thin? Since then, I've joined the Air Force, gotten married, had 3 amazing children, a 6 month deployment to Iraq, and a semi-major foot surgery. My weight has been all over the scale at least 3 times, mostly ranging from 162 to 212 at the most. Every time I got close to possibly nearing my goal, we'd get pregnant again. My foot surgery was 6 weeks ago, we're done having kids, and I need to get back in shape - eventually I'll have a fitness test, and I'd like to at least pass. I'm not up to running, or even really walking, so I'm starting slow. I found this forum a few months ago, but with the pending surgery, I wasn't ready to start. I'm ready...for real, this time. I've very motivated right now, but I know I'll need more motivation in the coming weeks!! Starting weight: 193 lbs. Motivation level: High.
Thanks to all who post success stories - definitely helps with my motivation!!

Welcome to 3FC =)

While exercising is definitely recommended for almost everyone due to the great health benefits, you don't need to do a lot in order to lose weight.

And while recovering from surgery it's probably best that you don't want to push yourself too hard right now. Eating healthier, watching food intake... it goes a long way towards losing weight and being healthier in general.

Best of wishes on your journey!

Thanks for the "welcomes."
Foot surgery: My sesamoid bone was fractured in half - still not sure how this happened. They had to go in and remove the smaller half. While they were in there, they shaved down a bunion, realligned my big toe, and put in a pin and a screw to hold it all together.

Sounds serious, I managed a Weber c ankle fracture (dislocated ankle) and compound fracture of fibula. One bit of advice is to do all the physio that they give you. It really does make a difference, I didnt do as much as I should have and it effected me, seems ok now, very slightly limited movement but not much, back playing sport without much problem.

Is the sesamoid bone like a metatarsel? Managed to break one of them before aswell.

Anyway best of luck with the recovery and your journey!
