My Intro
Hi all! I've been reading the forum for a while and finally decided I might as well join in... I'm 33, married 5 years, and the mom of a 3-year-old girl. I gained quite a bit while I was pregnant (mostly thanks to bed rest for preeclampsia) but got down to about 10 pounds above my pre-pregnancy weight when my daughter was a 6 months old or so. THEN my thyroid went beserk, I felt terrible and got depressed, etc... So here I am, with at least 40 pounds to lose!
My greatest motivation is wanting to have another baby! I want to be at a healthy weight when we conceive again.
I officially started at 214 last week, and I want to make it to 158 by next summer. I'm 5'8". I'm concentrating on cutting out sugar and simple carbs, increasing protein (I'm a vegetarian but need to avoid too much soy for my thyroid, so this gets a little tricky!), walking/jogging, and light weights.
I'm looking forward to getting to know people and finding some diet buddies!
