Hi all! I've been hanging out here for about a month now and I guess it's about time to introduce myself.
So here goes... I've been a big girl all my life but the last three years things have gotten out of hand and I put on an extra 70 pounds. I started a job that keeps me pretty much sedentary for 12 hours a day. My husband (he's such a bad influence) and I got married in 2009 and I quit smoking (go me!) in February. But really these are just excuses; I'm fat because I love to eat.
Last month on my 30th birthday I secretly wanted a huge blowout party but refused to have one. I was too ashamed to have friends I haven't seen in a couple of years to see how big I've gotten. It was a total wake-up call. The day after my birthday I started trying to live healthier. No more fast food, no sodas and more fruits and veggies. I'm trying to exercise more but have really been a slacker in that department.
I've come to 3FC to get and give any support I can.
There is tons of support here! Glad you found your way here. I would love to have a beautiful family portrait but have not allowed myself to be photographed at all for 3-4 years. So I understand about the party!
Hi there! I love this site! you'll find tons of great info and support here - I have struggled with the same things, I haven't had a family photo taken since my oldest son was 9, He's now 18 and not to mention dear friends I haven't seen for over 10 years because I haven't wanted them to see me at 230+ pounds (100lbs overweight) You can do it! and congrats on quiting smoking.
