Talking IP Newbie - one day at a time

Did I mention I LOVE THIS SITE!!! A 44 yr old mom of three, and grandma to 2, have tried many diets over the past 10 years, WW, Atkins, curves, etc. with reasonable success but never getting to my goal or being able to maintain it, then I gain it all back plus some - Ending up with 100 pounds to go - so I'm in this for the long haul.
Ok, so I'm a carb/sugar junkie I admit it, but no more!
I've been doing The IP protocol and have started my 7th week, have lost 26 lbs so far and am very excited! I love the momentum with this diet, I too stumbled upon this site when looking for answers and ideas, Bravo! just what I needed.

Glad you found the site. I have just been here a bit. WOW you are on the 7th week and lost 26 lbs! That is tremendous. I am on week 6 and lost about 14. But 30 altogether since January. I don't know what IP protocol is but it must work for you!

Best wishes!

IP is the Ideal Protein, and it has been working great, each week is something different though, the first week i lost 9.8 lbs, the next was 4, some weeks have been very good then some not as good, last week I only lost 1 pound so I was scouring the web for some insight as to why my loss has slowed and some ideas to kick it up a notch, but all in all I have been very happy with the diet, It's easy and the results are fantastic!

I'll have to look it up more. What my Dr. has me on is high lean protein. IS it the same.

Don't worry too much about last week. Your body does have to stabilize a bit after some weight loss. Maybe adding a bit extra exercise of mixing your exercise up would help.

Yes the IP is a protein diet, probably very similar to yours, thank you for your kind words and encouragement and best of luck on your journey as well, I'm sure the exercise would help.
