Default Hiya Everyone :) Newbie in CO

Hi all,

My name is Mel and I live in Colorado, US. I have struggled most my life with being overweight and trying to lose weight. Let's see.. I have tried, Slimfast, Nutrisystem, Jenny Craig, Medifast (for a very short time- I was derailed a week or so into it, due to a horrible accident involving a family member),GNC pills, 20/30 diet (the one I had the most success on), "6 keys" or something like that and the "On my Own Diet" (lol), and so many more fad diets.

I think I have finally arrived at a place in my life where I have figured out some of the obstacles that may hinder me in this battle and I now also have a desire to feel better, be more active and ok.. to fit in a pair of jeans that look awesome would be great

I look forward to ecouraging and being encouraged, here on the site. I have, honestly, about 150 to lose to be at the "appropriate" weight but woudl also be very satisfied with about a 100. I can't remember being 150 smaller since Junior High (Maybe!!).

Best of luck to each and everyone of you!

Mel

Welcome from another Coloradan here!!

What is the 20/30 diet?

You should check out the 100 lb club forum http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/100-lb-club-55/ for people looking to lose 100 lbs or more or really anyone trying to get from above 200 into "Onederland" - a number on the scale that starts with a 1! lol! It's an awesome group of people with lots of support and inspiration.

Howdy, neighbor. I'm in WY, but originally from CO. Welcome to the group! You'll find so much support here! I'm still new, too, but I'm already impressed with all the support around here!

It's the 20/30 Fat & Fiber Diet Plan by Gabe Mirkin
....basically you have no more than 20grams of fat per day and at least 30 grams of fiber. Right after I was divorced about 10 years ago, I did this and lost about 40-50 pds. Lot's of veggies

THANK YOU ALL for being so welcoming
