I've lost 35 pounds so far and am down to and maintaining 240 after two years. I was teetering on the edge of 229 and 230 in the last few months and suddenly I stepped on the scale today to see I have gained 10 pounds. I am not going to gain all of that weight back! Joined this board for extra support.
I already belong to a gym, and convinced a friend to join with me. However, she for the most part refuses to go. So much for that plan. I have a Spinner in my bedroom (since the summer), and my plan is to use it for at least 15-20 minutes per day in addition to going to the gym at least twice a week.
As far as diet goes, my plan is to cut my juice and soda consumption way down (limiting myself to one or two a week), and also I'd like to get back to eating the low carb diet that helped me lose the 35 pounds way back when.
I was put on Metformin due to insulin resistance/metabolic syndrome and to help with the initial weight loss, and my PCP says I may stop the medication if I get down to 170. So for now, 170 is my weight goal. She also suggested I consider bariatric surgery.....and I would really prefer to just lose this weight via diet and exercise.
My non-weight goals (other than getting off the Metformin) are to be able to cross my legs at the knee more comfortably
and to be able to wear a size 12 or 14 for the first time in years.
I'm pretty excited to be a member of this board!
