Smile New today but already happier

Hi,

I had heard about this but didn't remember until I stumbled across it tonight. Christmas is hard time to restart, but I figure its as good a time as any. I have decided to take this one day at a time, and I was doing really well until Christmas snuck up on me. My industry goes nuts during December and I swear I'm either doing lunch or dinner or worst, both EVERY DAY. I haven't worked out for two weeks and I have been guaffawing wine back like there is no tomorrow. Tonight was the first night with no wine in 2.5 weeks.
I like reading the success stories, and by April-ish I hope to write my own. 20 pounds in 4 months...or at least feeling sexy in 4 months...so if 20 pounds or 10 give me that, then whoo hoo. I'm tired of being "pretty, and if I lost 10 pounds I would be incredible" I'm going to be beautiful right now; and be healthy in 20 pounds-ish.

Do I set a strong goal weight or do should I just try to feel great everyday until I "feel right"? Little confusing.

We are the same size-ish!

I would say setting an end goal is probably more mentally motivating.

Like in school, we could say: I want to learn more and be generally smarter OR I want to make an A.

In the end, would the A require MORE hard work and be more rewarding? I think it would.

But, I am still on the fence about which is better.... hmmmmmmm

Hi veelau!
Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated, inspired and entertained! There's also info and first hand advice on different eating plans and exercise to help choose the right ones for you and get through the ups and downs.

There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

I've only been here a few months myself, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of cheating or giving up.

So welcome - you 've found the right place - join in by inspiring us and being inspired!

All the best - good luck with your goals,
Lee
