Hi everyone. Today is my first day on the South Beach Diet. I read the book and I feel that this diet will work for me and won't be too difficult to stick with.

About me; I'm 26 years old and was born and raised in Sunny CA. I've always been overweight but I feel it's time to get healthy and hopefully down into single digit clothing sizes.

I'm using my friend as a guide for my weight. She's my build and currently weighs about 130 lbs. I'd love it if I can get down to that so I've set that as my goal weight. I'm not in a race so I know that if I take my time and am consistant with my exercise, I can meet my goal.

I love to make friends so don't hesitate to talk to me We can talk about anything and everything.

Sounds like you have a good plan in place - now it's just about sticking with it! 3FC is great for support in that.

Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated, inspired and entertained!

There are lots of people here with more to lose and lots with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

I've only been here a short time myself, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of cheating or giving up.
