Need to be back
It's been over a year (or more) since I've posted. I had hit my goal in early 2007 by losing almost 50 lbs after changing my eating habits and learning the enjoyment of running. I actually got below my goal to 118, but found that low to mid 120s actually was better for me.
I lost accountability, first and foremost, through not visiting here AND not food journaling my intake. I forgot about all those wonderful endorphins that make me naturally feel good that I pumped up through healthy eating and regular exercise. And I got lazy, forgetting that the hard work was worth it when I passed a mirror or got a compliment, not on my new body but the self-confidence that was even more powerful.
So I am back and I actually have a little different mindset.... instead of enjoying the losses first, I am going to make this more of a learning experience on my triggers and listening to my body: physically, emotionally and mentally so that I am more prepared for maintaining the new me. The enjoyment will always be there as dessert for a job well accomplished.
