Hi Everyone!
I just joined. Today was my 25th birthday -- a really wonderful, lovely day that my boyfriend helped make very special. He even baked a cake! But... ugh, all the fun has gone out of my old favorite junk foods. While I was home over Christmas I went to the doctor and the scale was finally up at the 200lb mark. I'd been slowly, steadily gaining weight for years, but seeing it at the 200lb mark really woke me up.
So I'm here for the help of what I hear is a fantastic supportive community, because it's time for me to take control over my body. I'm a grad student who works part time, and right now I'm just working so last week I had a ton of time to exercise and start to get into a good routine. But I'm concerned that once my schedule fills up again, these important goals will fall to the wayside.
Anyway, I just wanted to say hi and hopefully I will be back here often.
Any tips or tricks for a newbie? I will go a peruse the forums now and hopefully get inspired! Tomorrow I'm off to buy a yoga mat
I'm hoping to lose about 30 lbs before my vacation in March. Wish me luck!
