Smile I'm new and very excited to be here!

Hi!

Hi. I've never actively used health forums for motivation before. I tried one forum but I think everybody there has to buy a bunch of overpriced CDs and exercise equipment to participate.

So I decide to try this one. I only started exercising about a month ago and so far the results have been great but I figure it would be good to get more motivation & support.

One day I looked in the mirror and was surprised at how much weight I had gained since the start of grad school. I called my personal trainer friends and one nutritionist friend and got all kinds of advice. I mushed them together along with some discoveries of my own and so far so good. I've lost a lot of weight quickly (in a healthy way) and if this continues, I'll post some of the techniques I've used. It's actually been much easier than I thought (I had tried before but failed so I thought it would be just as hard this time).

I'd love to participate in this forum (occasionally- working full-time and going to school leaves very little free time) to help motivate me through any of the long term plateaus that may be lurking around the corner.

Nice to meet you all!

Sincerely,
Elizabeth

Elizabeth, I would be interested to learn what you have learned about loosing weight. I just started on this forum, also. I have been on South Beach Diet , this is my third year. I have worked out with weights three times a week and I do cardio exercise the other 7 hours per week. This has been my life for two years plus one month. I have had success, but am faltering right now and need a boost. I have hit a plateau in December and remain there. I had a seven month plateau after the first 33# lost, and it is a wonder I kept up with it. Good luck to you. tina

I'm impressed that you are on the same diet and exercise routine for three years! Share your secrets of long term maintenance please!!

Sincerely,
Elizabeth
