Trying to be rational, not emotional, but I'm sure y'all can understand that seeing ANY scale move in the opposite direction is not fun.

Things I am telling myself: it was after lunch (though I only had eggs and veggies), no 2 scales are rarely the same, and I am wearing clothes (duh...but I am always wearing clothes at my WIs ).

I have considered getting an at-home scale as something consistent to measure my progress on, but I don't want to get obsessive with it and stress out. I kind of LIKE that my Friday WIs are a bit of a surprise, because when it's good, it feels so exciting!

What do y'all prefer to do? Weigh yourself daily at home, or just weekly at your WIs?
You know scales at different places may be calibrated differently, right?
Just pick a scale and go by that number.
Now that you've weighed in on the different scale, you'll have a "baseline" on that scale and it should show the same losses as other scales, if not the exact same weight.
AND if they were different times, that can explain it all by itself.

You might want to make inquiries at your clinic and find out when the same person will be working so measurements will be more similar week-to-week.

I might take your advice and get a home scale once I'm down a bit more. I have the tendency to get obsessed with it, so I want to be in a better headspace before I get one. I'm not normally a disordered eater, but scales seem to bring out the worst in me!! I always tell myself to go by how my clothes fit, but though the lbs are generally falling off on IP, I have yet to go down a clothing size. Hopefully soon!
Courtney I second the recommendation to get your own scale. I bought the Omron HBF-514C Full Body Composition Sensing Monitor and Scale from Amazon - it was the same one they used at my clinic and it was $30 less on amazon than what the clinic was charging. I like it cause it seems to be super accurate, and it measures my fat and muscle which helps me stay balanced when the scale doesn't move where I want it to. i've been reading a lot in the Maintainers thread and the 'can you keep it off' thread and been viewing the IP videos and the message is pretty consistent that you need to weigh and stay on top of your weight. The scale helps and if you have the one scale that's consistent, it makes a huge difference - at least it did for me.

I also weight myself daily. First thing in the morning but only take once a week ( on Mondays) as my WI days. I am doing alternatives. For those of you that are "tecky" I have found an app I love. It is called Happy Scale on ITunes. You can input what you weight now or did weight when you started and your goal. It breaks it into 10 milestones. As you input your daily or less often weight it will detect a pattern. It"smooths" out your weight loss so you can see that you are still on track even if you have gained abit. It also projects when you will reach your goal based on your history and projected weight loss. Best of all, it is free.
I love the visuals and find it very motivating, but I am all about the numbers.

I'm really not too terribly worried about the measurements. I'll know when I'm smaller and where. And truthfully, it was different set of ladies there today from what was there last week. Maybe all those that were busy booking a cruise last week while I was there left to be on it?
Thanks for the suggestion though!

I am not a real inspired cook and doubt I will get too adventurous. I found when I did WW years ago that I would just think about food constantly and almost obsess over what I was going to be eating. I am not hungry doing IP and am able to not really think about food so much which I think is healthier for me mentally. I think I am making my meal choices because I have to eat to live, but I don't feel like I am living to eat which is a great change for me. Hope everyone else is hanging in there!

Went to the grocery store after and right now my kitchen is a wreck. I have about $150 worth of produce I am fixing to prep; making some of those wonderful veggie purees found somewhere here on this forum (my mind is a blank where, glad I printed them out!) They will help me and hubbie get over the missing of gravy that we put on just about everything before IP.

Just wanted to check in and give an update! Have a great rest of the day!
Congratulations to both of you - great job!!!

Just catching up on the thread. Great Job to those of you who posted losses. Nothing like a loss to keep you motivated.

It is so nice to check in and feel like I am not alone in this journey. Of course, I have a great coach. She texted me every morning during the first week. Very supportive.

Have a good OP night.

Losses:
51.8 pounds
neck--2.1"

left arm--3.2"
waist--10.3"
hips --9"
left thigh--4.3"

[QUOTE=scorbett1103;5124311]shasta10 I just saw your post from yesterday - a puggle is a mixed breed dog, the result of a pug and beagle mating. They are fantastic little dogs, great temperament, many have longer noses so they avoid some of the respiratory issues common in pugs, they're smart little buggers too! I just love them, we told the kids last night and they are beside themselves!!

I love it! I had a "Bassador" which is a mix between a basset hound and a labrador retriever. He had the look of a lab but with the basset body. He was a hoot. Very sweet and fun loving personality. Good luck with your new puggle!!

1. I like Big Mac in a Bowl

2. Also, I will cook ground beef, angel hair cabbage, mushrooms w/ beef broth and add spices (I have a few beef spice mixes I bought at Whole Foods, or I use a mix of Cumin + Chili Powder)

3. Pork Loin cooked in the crock pot with sauerkraut

4. Roasted veggies + protein cooked w/ spice rub

5. Stir fry beef, garlic, soy sauce + veggies

Getting a little diet fatigue here, too...... The gal next to me was eating a leftover enchilada, and it looked so yummy!

Canceled my June Singles Cruise...... I want to be phased off when I go on a cruise. Will just wait. Will take my usual few days in Port Aransas before school starts again. Sigh.......

Conference in San Antonio coming up...... Looking forward to it. No margaritas for me, though...... :-(

I go to finally swim laps yesterday and now I'm so sore today! But I wore tennis shoes and jeans to work and powered through, walking over 10,000 steps at work alone.

I did have the most frustrating experience at dinner today though. My cousins asked me to go out on a whim after us all visiting my mom in the hospital. We ended up at cheesecake factory which was the closest place to where we were. I thought I was doing so well ordering chicken and mushroom lettuce wraps. According to the description they were totally IP compliant. I am so glad I went to enter them in MFP while I was waiting on them to arrive - 27 grams of carbs in the small plate! I asked for a box as soon as they arrived and now they are home in my fridge waiting for my roommate. I sat and sipped my water all dinner and was seriously glad I had packed an emergency quest bar in my backpack and ate a snack before going to the hospital. Oh well lesson learned.

Hope everyone had a great day!

Terrific results!!! Thank you so much for sharing your full journey through all the phases of IP, and providing this nice summary that tells your story.

Please continue to come here to 3FC IP going forward -- I think we all know that onging maintenance can be challenging. Support is here, and we all will benefit from any tips and tricks you learn and can share.

Well done!!!!
