Happy Friday All:

This week is just flying buy. I have WI tomorrow and going to treat myself with steak and veggies. Nothing exciting but I am looking forward to it.

Happy Friday! (Or in my case happy 5th Monday LOL)

So glad the week is over....I just have to power through today and tonight and then tomorrow hubby and I are finishing up buying stocking stuffers while the kids are at practice for the church Christmas play, then the kids go to stay at Grammie's house and we have a date at Foxwoods! Couldn't make it an overnight, hubby works Sunday morning and the kids are performing the play at church, but it'll be nice to be grownups for a night. The plan is to get a dinner at the casino before the comedy show, have to check out the menus tonight and plan where we'll go.

Got myself all registered for classes next semester, so once I get through finals next week I can OFFICIALLY breathe for a few weeks I took my math placement test yesterday and apparently I haven't TOTALLY forgotten Algebra in the 25 years since I graduated high school

Hope everyone finishes their week with a bang!

Happy Friday everyone! This week seems to have dragged for a lot of us, myself included. I have a really busy day planned today and don't expect to be home until 9pm...thankfully I brought my dinner with me so I can eat when I need to eat...I may have to eat dinner cold but that's better than getting crazy hungry and trying to find something IP friendly on the go.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Happy Friday!!!!!

Happy to report that I've been back 100% OP and the scale is moving again. Down 2 lbs at this morning's WI and I have OFFICIALLY made it into the 130s!!!! I'm ecstatic right now and definitely needed this feeling to help push through these last 10 lbs.

Thank you everyone for your support. If you fall off the wagon, you can get right back on it and there is no need to beat yourself up over it. I knew what I was doing when I did but I needed to get back into the right mentality to push through. I would have never been able to lose as much as I have so far without the 100% OP mentality and I'm glad to be back here and finish this out strong.

I can so relate to 5 Mondays this week - is it a moon phase or something? Craziness has taken over the entire week!

Post Ready to start

Hi, Everybody.
I did not get to start IP in November like I had wanted to. But, I am gearing up to start on Jan 1.
This weekend I am cleaning out my kitchen and getting everything organized so, come Jan 1, I am ready to begin. I am taking a 4 day weekend starting the 1st so I can get into the swing of things before having to pack lunches and snacks for work each day.
Can't wait to get started!
I have to get this weight off. So tired of feeling crappy all the time from eating so much sugar (LOVE Pepsi).
I'm hoping by following the IP Protocol it will cause me to feel better and have more energy.
Thanks to all who post here. Love reading all the encouraging posts.
Happy Friday to all !!

Hi Ladies! Sounds like there are some busy weekends happening! I'll be finishing up my Christmas shopping and trying to relax a bit.

I need your help - I posted this in the Nov thread but thought I would get more advice here. I am getting a little discouraged these days, not sure if it's because my Dad is ill or because I am feeling deprived due to all these events and parties that are happening. But honestly, I'm getting really tired of salads every single day for lunch. I don't want to go off plan, I don't think I will, but I just want to see my motivation and spirits high as it was for the first months or so. Any advice for me? I know I need to mix up my food, but I just feel like there aren't really any choices for lunch. HELP!

I do a few things when I'm tired of salad:
- homemade veggie soup. I use 8 cups of veggies and 4 cups of broth, and split into 4 even portions so I know there are 2 cups veggie in each.
- Zucchini noodles - I use the veggie chili mix as a topping for lunch over 2 cups of zuke noodles, but you could easily also do 1 1/2 cup of noodles and then 1/2 cup of diced tomato seasoned with italian spices for a pseudo-italian lunch.
- Sliced veggies with Walden Farm dressing for dipping. Sometimes just having finger food instead of a salad is enough of a change.
- Splitting protein between lunch & dinner. Top a salad with 2 oz of meat, or make yourself a lunch meal of 4oz meat and cooked veggies (frozen broccoli is really handy for this!). Still have your packet at lunch, and just reduce your dinner protein accordingly. It might be enough of a flavor change to make a difference.

You are doing GREAT - pushing through emotional stress without turning to food for comfort is HARD, but flexing that muscle will only make you stronger and more in control. Keep it up!

Teags - I don't know if you're a rhubarb fan but when it was my TOM I took rhubarb, heated it up on the stove and added some WF Pancake syrup and vanilla extract to it. I used that as 1c of my veggies at dinner, I pretended it was dessert! Was just what I needed to push me through, and vary my veg!

I'm really sorry to hear about your dad.

Thanks ladies, some great ideas. I know I'm just in a funk and I will turn it around - if for no other reason than succeeding feels so darn good!

Scorbett - I just reread your little mantra about flexing your willpower muscle makes it stronger and I just love it. Thanks for the food ideas as well, I think I'm going to try the soup this weekend.

kimo - That rhubarb dish sounds soooo tasty! Thank you!

Happy Friday fellow IPeeps!

I love the rhubarb idea!! I will have to remember it for Christmas dinner I think. TeagsC, I'm stuck in a rut with my food right now, but I'm not quite sick of it. Hopefully changing it up with some of the great suggestions from our fellow IPeeps will get you outta that funk!

Have a great OP weekend everyone

Congrats! 130's are AWESOME. I hope to see that before I get through with these last 2 phases. So close 141.7.

Welcome. You are in the right place. These boards will give you all the support and advice you will need. Come visit everyday. I did and it has been my lifeline and I feel it contributed to my success. I saw a thing on Facebook the other day where a man drank 10 Cokes a day for 30 days. He still ate healthy and exercised. Guess what? He gained 23 lbs. So it's true, sugar is BAD.
