The dance party was a lot of fun, good music, and a good crowd of dancers. I was asked to dance many times -- I avoided the buffet until late in the evening and since there were some nicely steamed shrimp just waiting for me, I had 4 of them as a little snack, and took that protein into account when I had a midnight supper. (I had run out of time getting ready to go, so my supper was postponed until after the party.)

I thoroughly enjoyed primping and getting dressed up -- and what a joy to do that without spending a lot of time and energy on trying to make myself look 'not so fat'..... last year, trying to disguise my girth was all I could think of.... this year it was just plain fun!

I have another dance party the Saturday before Christmas, and then there is one on New Year's Eve. More fun to look forward to!

Sounds like an amazing night!!

I have a quick question. I'm a church organist. Today was my first Sunday on IP (7th day total). It didn't even occur to me I shouldn't take Holy Communion until the rector placed the wine-dipped wafer in my mouth.

Have I just undone a week's worth of work??????? Tried searching the site, but "no results". Thank you!

oneuhtwo, I'm glad you had a great time dancing!!! I used to obsessively go out dancing, both swing and tango. I have not tried dancing while on IP, but may get back into it during P4.

Have fun at the rest of your dance events!

What a great article. I am realizing this time around (this is a reboot for me too), that the only way to succeed is to focus as much on setting up for long-term success which means really focusing on mindset and strategy.
I know this time i will be fine in maintenance because I get that this is a lifestyle shift, although the intense PH 1 protocol is temporary,as someone said earlier, there is no such thing as a non-IP day even if it is a funday - it is all a part of a big picture, not a random occurrence.
I like that we are all talking about this.

Please don't worry about it - I took communion the entire time I was losing. We've had this discussion a few times, there really aren't enough carbs in the host to do any harm.
