Only one more week left for this Challenge -- thanks so much for setting it up for us Lisa! As of today we have posted more than 1300 lbs in losses!

Is it too soon to inquire if we might have another challenge starting soon? I hope we will...

Note: the post I created this response to has been edited & no longer references leaders.

I have to say I find the reference to leaders and "top 3" very offensive.

We've never looked at this as a race or a competition between participants.
It is a self-challenge.
There is no "leader board".
There is no "top 3".
Everyone who reaches the finish line has won, even if they're not yet at goal.
Comparing weight losses isn't what it is about.
Being "better than" is no way to support each other.

Everyone comes to it in a different place.
Some are brand new and lose a LOT at first, before tapering to slower.
Some are in the middle of their weight loss and have more of an average weekly loss.
Some have more to lose
Some less
Some are very close to goal and have slower losses or met goal while on the challenge.
Others lost consistent weight and will remain on IP longer due to amount of weight to lose.

EVERYONE is a winner who completes this challenge and drops weight, according to their own goals
They should all be congratulated and gushed over!
There is no space for comparisons or competition.
Period.

I''ve already started working on the spreadsheet.

Thoughts?
Another 12-weeker or one to "get thru the holidays"?
We could have a short 5-weeks to New Years (Thanksgiving - New Years) and then have another fabulous 12-weeker to start the year.
I'm leaning toward the New Year Challenge and then welcoming all the new folks on January to a new challenge.

Lisa, Although I have not lost as much as I have wanted to. Due to a number of circumstances, this challenge has ensured that I have kept off the weight that I have lost. THANK YOU for setting these challenges up.

My two cents for what it is worth is that I agree with you..if not too much work if we can have one until New Year's then start in January a new challenge.

Thanks again for all you do and your support!

Lisa~ I love the idea of a short 5-week challenge. It will help me stay focused throughout the holidays ….yet at the same time, it will allow people who are focusing on 'no gain' holidays, to get a fresh start in January.

Thank you so much for working on the spreadsheet

Lisa - my 2-cents let's do a short, "no-gain holidays" sort of thing then start a new long challenge with the New Year.

I just wanted to tell you that I always look forward to reading your comments and updates. I am inspired by you. And, I think a little gift for losing 50 lbs. is in order. I'll be hitting that milestone too and will have to do the same. Thank you!

I love the idea of a 5 week holiday challenge. Then a 12 week challenge in the new year.

Thank you Lisa for all your work you have put into the challenges.

It keeps me motivated and working towards my goal.

Yes! Let's do a 5 week challenge to get us through the holidays. I think this is the time of year to stay focused in the short term.

Lisa,
Thanks for organizing these challenges. This was my first one - as soon as I left each weigh in, I would race to my computer to update the spreadsheet. When I had a slow week, I'd look to see how others were doing. When I got discouraged by how much I still have left to go, I'd look at who started the challenge where I am today, and marvel at where they are now. So validating and motivating! I am definitely in for the 5 week holiday blitz and the 12 week new year challenge too!

Lisa - thanks so much for thinking of all of us -- I'm with you! I like your suggestion of the 5 week sprint, followed by a new 12-weeker beginning January 2015!

I am sure many of us could use the extra incentive thru the holidays, and ub January we'd likely have new players with the usual new year resolutions looking for a place to launch their efforts.

I'm in!!! Lemme know if there is anything I can do to help.
thanks
cheryl
