I weighed in this morning and I'm down 1 pound. I've been fighting to not say "only" because I'm still losing weight. I already had reasonable expectations yesterday because the scale wasn't moving much. I'm not entirely sure why, but I have faith it'll get going again.

How about your inches lost? Often when weight doesn't go down or only goes down a little, it is because the body is dropping inches and reshaping body parts instead!!

Question on Ketosis strips- do any of you know if we should be in the moderate to high range? Would drinking a lot of water (more the 64 oz) bring it down?

Ketosis is like pregnancy - you either are or you aren't. There are not degrees of ketosis!

That being said, the stix are notoriously unreliable. As you eat low carb, your body gets quite efficient at processing ketones and you don't excrete them in the urine. (and yes, drinking more water dilutes any that are there - hence the darker ranges can mean you are not drinking enouch!)

After 3-5 days of 100% eating on program, you are in ketosis. If you stick with 100% on program, you will stay in ketosis... NO WORRIES!

Thank you! I check it everyday..I eat on program but I still check it. It generally is in the small range but I thought it was due to the water I drink everyday.

Weighed in today, down 3.8 for a total of 30lbs and 16 in.! I made my mini goal of losing 10% of my body weight. Next goal, under 250!

Amber - I'm not a salmon chef but the easiest thing is just to put it (oven or BBQ) with some seasonings and just let it cook till it flakes off - it doesn't take that long. I'm going to say 14 minutes at the most. I spritz with a bit of EVOO and then sprinkle with various spices. Dill stuff is nice with salmon too.

For BBQ you can also put it in tin foil OR soak a cedar plank and cook it on the cedar plank. Grocery stores sell the cedar planks if you need one.

...mmmm.... getting hungry....

Personal News: Our house offer for the "home of our dreams" got accepted! We were third in line and made it up the ranks so thanks for the many prayers and well wishes - they worked! It's not a done deal yet -- still conditions to go through and we HAVE to sell our house and fast so I still need some "happy thoughts" but at least we're one step closer

I tried a recipe of food network, I marinated it with olive oil, garlic, and soy sauce then grill for about 4-5 minutes each side starting skin down... turns out that wasn't enough grilling, it was a little rare for me so I put it in a pan for a few. I like my salmon a little "crispy" so to speak but the flavor was delicious!!!

If you like it crispy try searing it in a pan at high heat on both sides then throwing it in the oven! That may help!

Had my consultation today. Got my food and I'm committed to starting tomorrow morning. Veggies are prepped and I'm raring to go. You are all so inspirational. Have several parties over the next couple of weeks but I guess I can always come up with excuses so tomorrow it is! I hope to have good news to share over the next several months.

"Now" is the best time to start, lol. There will ALWAYS be stuff coming up, but you will learn to deal with it and we'll all help. This forum is a great source for ideas and support.
