Week 4 headaches & dizzy

  • I am just starting week 4 and starting last week I started to get very dizzy and sick at times and absolutely had to eat. I am finding the past few days I am also getting really bad headaches that don't go away until I eat. I am assuming this is from carb withdrawl but I'm not sure what to do about it. For instance today I had a shake for breakfast, 1 c cucumber for a snack, IP chili with cucumber and pickles for lunch, a chocolate pudding in the afternoon.

Does anyone have any insight or suggestions?
  • How much water are you getting? And are you adding the full amount of salt required directly to your food each day?
  • I think I have been getting enough salt. I add it to my veggies and on my salad. But maybe I should try some more. I've never eaten much additional salt on my food so I find it hard to remember to do that. On Friday I did eat just salt on its own and chased it with water to try to combat a headache and it did calm it slightly. I am drinking at least the minimum required amount of water and most days I drink more.

I've been losing weight and I really want to keep this up so I really hope this is just an adjustment phase for me.
  • Have you checked your blood pressure?

In "real world" eating we typically get way more salt in our food even without adding it. On IP you don't get nearly as much (even w/IP soups which have more sodium than most other IP products).

So definitely watch your in take to get enough or even a little extra for now.
