Good afternoon everyone! I am in Massachusetts and the humidity is unreal. I saw a few people write about water retention due to heat, 92 in the house right now! I weigh in tomorrow anything I can do to help? Thanks

Trish...my coach told me to drink tons of water and eat cucumbers...they're supposed to be a natural diuretic.

That is great!!! Today I am back on protocol, it's day 1 and I can't wait to feel like that again!

Default Yet another egg question

I received the latest sheet at my center which said 4 eggs plus 2 whites. However, the nurse/coach said it was a typo and should be 2 eggs and 2 whites. I often wonder if my clinic, which is very new in the program, really knows what thet are talking about. Will some of you pros put this to rest for me?

And while Im asking, one of my favorite recipes uses 6 ozs. Of tomato sauce. I am assuming this equals one of my four cups of restricted veggies. Is that correct.

4 eggs plus two egg whites would be the same as 4 eggs and two egg whites. So either way, yes you have to eat all those eggs! If you ever have any questions there are so many people here with a wealth of information, experience and advice to offer! We;re in this together!
You are correct about the tomato sauce! Tomatoes are my favorite, I love them in all forms and have a bad habit of going over my weekly tomato allowance.

I feel like all of the IP products are artificially sweetened for a reason, and just concerned this particular product can throw my insulin or pancreas out of where IP got them to. Hoping this product is ok, as they're REALLY good!
Sucralose is the generic name for the brand Splenda
There is also malitol in the bars (a sugar alcohol)
This bar is what I would consider a higher-end restricted with its 17 g carbs but fits the rules. I might not choose one daily. Even some IP foods have fructose, sugar, or brown rice syrup.

Your coach is wrong. The last TWO protocols have eggs listed as 4/2. It is not a typo. Confirmed by coaches who went to recent IP trainings. Plus, if you look at protein equivalents, 4/2 equals approximately 8 oz meat.

You would have to know how many tomatoes it takes to make 6 oz of tomato sauce. It is probably in the Internet. They DO cook down quite a bit.
My guesstimate would be 1/3-1/2 that amount for an IP serving.

My IP clinic also says 4 whole eggs (with option of adding 2 egg whites) counts towards your 8 oz of protein for dinner.

Just had my WI -- lost 2.25 lbs & a couple inches. And I bought two individual packets of Mangosteen to try. My friend mixed hers right there in the office and said it was good -- kinda berry-flavored.

Re tomatoes
I found this
• 1 cup firmly packed fresh tomato = 1/2 cup tomato sauce plus 1/2 cup water
Here
http://homecooking.about.com/od/food...omatoequiv.htm

So it looks like 4 oz tomato sauce

Many thanks for confirming my suspicions about the eggs. And Lisa, thank you for the research on the tomato sauce composition.

Thanks Lisa. This bar actually has 12g of carbs, so not as bad as the Quest bars, but the calories from fat are on the high side- 67 cal from fat (and 170 cal in the bar). I only ate half of one because of that. I was more concerned with the ingredients... I know to stay away from aspartame, but wasn't sure if sugar or brown rice syrup would mess up the chemical balance that IP put me into.

Okay. I was looking at the peanut butter bar
I don't eat any of them due to the soy

Quest bars have around 5g net carbs

Sixty- five X sixty-five (can't type the number six on my computer! Thank you! You always give such sound advice! Yup, no wine, breads, spinach dip OR bloomin' onion! I so deserve a steak!

Official weigh in today was at 250, down 1.2 again. Wanted one more ounce so I could be in the 240's but with TOM, it's a no go. I'm looking forward to next weeks weigh in. 1.2 seems to be my go to number these days, I'll take it. Have a wonderful, cooler weekend everyone.
