Maybe it's just me but my last weigh in I was down 22 lbs, I haven't noticed a difference in the way my clothes fit. At what weight loss did you start to notice?
My tight size 24s were loosing up by the end of the first month. I was pretty slow to change sizes at first tho, and it was FRUSTRATING b/c others were changing sizes faster.
Remember, our bodies are all different. We lose fat in different places.
If I got frustrated comparing myself to others on this plan, I probably would have QUIT instead of having stuck with it.
BTW: I went from 260 to 243 in those first four weeks.
I am just over 1 month OP and just got into my next size down and they are snug. Like Lisa said, try not to compare yourself to anyone else. Everyone is so different. I am sure you are seeing inches lost. I notice my inches aren't going down as quickly in some areas as in others. I am getting smaller though and can see the difference in my body.
I have to remember i didn't gain the weight overnight, so i'm not going to lose it overnight! Even though i wish i would. Lol. IP is definitely the fastest i have EVER lost weight, so i am very pleased.
Hang in there and the smaller sizes will soon materialize!
I second Lisa... I'm down 22lbs, but i'm still not in a different size. I'm 5'3", and I tend to hold waist in my butt/hips/thighs, so while my jeans fit much looser, I haven't had to buy a different size yet. My waist has lost 7 inches, which means I'm now wearing belts, but I wouldn't be able to drop a size yet and get the jeans on. I know others who have dropped 15lbs and have gone down a size...everyone distributes their weight differently.
I have been on IP since May 17 and just bought my first pair of pants yesterday since starting - they are a full size smaller! 30 days to the day and 17.8 lbs! They are on the tight side, but I did that intentionally so they would fit a while longer.
Being 6' tall, it took about 20 lbs lost for me to go from size 20 to 18 pants. The 18's are getting big especially in the butt, legs. My top size is not much different yet. I have big arms and a big ol' belly that has gone down but not enough for a new size. Every once in awhile I find myself overzealous when I'm trying on tops and think I'm a smaller size than I am. I think it's because the bottom portion of me has gotten skinny but not the middle and top yet.
I took a while to drop sizes - I don't think I was able to get into a size 14 for a couple of months. Some of that is because I was wearing size 16 and 18 pants that had been stretched out with my growing rear end By the time I finally committed to losing weight those pants were probably closer to an 18 than a 16
Every body is SO different, there's no way to predict where the weight will come off and how that will translate into sizes - but it WILL come off, just keep pushing forward!
I'm the same as you. I'm down 22 pounds, and I can notice a slight difference in my clothing but I haven't gone down a size yet.
I'm itching to go buy new clothes We will get there though. Just have to be patient.
It's gonna get pricey over the long haul.
I've gone from a 24 to a 16 (almost 14 now). Really. Pricey.
I've taken to wearing clothes until DH tells me they're too big.
Thank goodness for resale shops! I'm not gettin to many truly NEW things until goal.
I'm semi lucky- I had packed on 50 lbs over the course of about 1.5 yrs from a double knee injury, so I have all of my thinner clothing in a corner of the closet waiting for me, so that will reduce some of the expense...at least until I bypass my pre-injury weight
My story is kinda similar to some others. I was wearing pants that were simply too tight with loose shirts to hide my much more than a muffin top. I have made two trips for new sizes over the past three months, and I've shopped in my closet. To be fully honest, I've gone down 4-5 sizes, but only had to purchase down two sizes due to wearing the wrong sizes in the beginning. Like some people may tell you, I've lost inches differently, so my body shape has shifted. That also has affected the sizes and styles I am buying now. Overall, I'm happy with it, but I need to start exercising to get the booty off the floor.
Good luck with your journey. Resale shops were a tremendous resource once the inches started to drop.
