I really like the new protein powders. I ordered chocolate first...then the strawberry, vanilla & peanut butter. They came in today. The strawberries & cream flavor was WAY less filled than the other flavors. Not much over half way filled. I wonder if there was a mistake with my container?
I tried the PB right away...it is yummy!!

Hi all, I am sorry if this question has been asked before!!! So, I am eating 1Quest double chocolate chunk bar (love<3) almost everyday now. I am not sure if it is restricted or unrestricted according to the *IP rule sticky*. I still ask coz I can't believe I can eat sth this good everyday!!! Plus I am now taking 30 DCC bars with me for my travel!!! Below is the nutritional info. Please advise.
Calories 160
Calories from Fat 50
Total Fat 6g
Total Carbohydrate 25g
Dietary Fiber 16g
Sugars 1g Erythritol 6g
Protein 20g
Thank you!!

Aria:
Read thru this thread to educate yourself.
This is a restricted. One per day is within IP protocol (for an alternative)

Aria05 11-21-2014 12:50 PM

Thanks Lisa. I have read the thread and thats why I am a little confused. Unless my math is wrong or I missed something important in the thread, shud I treat this as unrestricted?
Calories 160,Calories from Fat 50= 31% fat calories < 1/3rd from fat rule
Total Carbohydrate 25g,Dietary Fiber 16g,Sugars 1g Erythritol 6g = Net carbs is 3g
Protein 20g
Again, Thank you for being patient with me!

Yes, the fat and carbs are within range for unrestricted - BUT the calories are high. Unrestricteds fall in the range of 80-110 calories. So that is why Quest bars should be treated as restricted items.

Thanks Scorbett!!
I was looking at this sheet http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/4677467-post240.html and assumed dat anything less dan 160 cal was unrestricted. My bad. I guess it meant anything less dan 160cal is IP OK. Thank you SO much for clarifying that!!
That saved me from making BIG blunders in the future and so much time hunting for answers coz I am packing for my travel(early nxt week) and a little nervous bout staying OP!But I want to, and ergo the questions!! Thanks for your patience!!

If anyone uses MyFitnessPal, do you record net carbs or what is on the wrapper, which really cuts into daily carb allotment?

Ruth Ann 11-21-2014 06:43 PM

I record what is on the wrapper for both carbs and fiber. You can change what you are tracking in your diary on MFP, so I track both so it's easy to just subtract the fiber. Go to settings then diary settings and you can change one of the "nutrients tracked" to fiber.

Unfortunately, MFP mostly only lists total carbs, not net carbs. When you are on Phase 1, using MFP is really just helpful to get you in the habit of tracking....if you are following Phase 1 (even using alternatives) you do not have to track your carbs strictly and you are not shooting for a particular "allotment". Just follow the plan :)

Quest Bars - I don't understand...

Read on the alternative product thread that this bar was ok ( Great..something I can buy in Canada). Dashed down to GNC since their web site is kaput..

Looked at the back numbers and what is acceptable and they don't match...too many calories to start..

Apparently, the IP center is pointing folks in GNC's direction to buy..

So, what is the skinny on these things..

BTW, GNC also brought in shakes to for IP folks... didn''t tell me any of this..
