This is completely normal. Your body is adapting blood flow to help mobilize fat for fuel with the result being less blood (and warmth) going to your extremities.

Just throwing this out there. I've read that iron deficiency can cause cold hands and feet. Not that losing weight won't do that too. I'm colder now that I usually am, but I think that's the loss of fat.

i'm right there with you. especially at night. sometimes the coldness is so intense i am in tears.

mostly, my knees, shins, feet, toes....hands, ears, and nose....and forearms. its not a surface cold, its a deep in the joints cold and nothing helps except direct radiant heat....like a heat pad or electric blanket.

this past sunday night i was sleeping in south carolina where it is still in the low 80s....with gloves, long pants, long sleeved hoodie and socks and was still cold!!
i sometimes heat my blanket in the dryer 30 mins before i go to bed!!!

i drink hot tea all day, coffee, and chicken broth too to try to keep me warm inside. but it only lasts temporary and then i am cold again.

i guess its the price i have to pay to lose weight.

This all worries me a bit guys.... doesn't seem right actually. I always have cold hands and feet, but I have zero metabolism and am always concerned about diabetes. My coldness isn't from the diet. But if you're just feeling this way, cold in all your joints, from starting eating like this, I'd be asking some questions from a coach, dietician or dr. Whoever said "low iron" had a possible solution. It's "iron"ic to eat so much protein and spinach etc. and have low iron, but maybe a good ol' steak would be good to try! I know I have to have the salt or I get light headed from low blood pressure. I don't understand that either, but at least I have something to try when I feel that way. I'll be interested to see what others have to say about this all...

I'm not on IP so I hope y'all don't mind me sticking my nose in. After I lost about 30 pounds, I started getting cold and it was particularly bad at night. I bought a heated blanket and oh my..... That first night I had it, I slept like a rock. I've also got arthritis and that warmth really helped my joints. It's made a huge difference to the quality and quantity of my sleep.

I find fleece socks help me with that deep cold joint feeling.

Otherwise I have had a full work up and my dr said I was the healthiest person he sees.
