Default Eating out for the first time (Alberta)… HELP

Hey All
I made it through week one with great success but now I have my first big challenge …. my husband and I are going out to dinner for our anniversary! We are going to Moxie's, I have a good idea of what to order but not sure if I should give preparation instructions?
Think it should be ok to order steak, mushrooms, and broc?
We're going to Moxies btw

I think it would be fine. Just ask for minimal oil...hopefully they will comply.
Earls is usually excellent about special request as well.

I would go for it! Ask for a double side of steamed broccoli with no oil or sugar. Sounds like a delish meal! Happy anniversary!! Enjoy your date night!

I had a steak, broc, & roasted peppers and zucchini - sounds great right? I asked for it without oil etc. but the steak was marinated in honey garlic and the veggies were cooked in butter …. realized after I ate about 1/2 cup of veggies and never realized about the steak until I got home and looked up the nutrition information - so scared I am out of ketosis

I'm in my 3rd week of the program, and my biggest challenge is eating out. We love to eat out, and now I would much rather eat home. However, I have been discovering the restaurants that are perfect for this diet (these restaurants gladly substitute steamed broccoli instead of the potatoes). Be careful of certain restaurants -- if the vegetables taste too yummy, there can be sugar in them. Here's a great trick-- my new favorite visualization (from Dr.Oz): when the bread person comes over to you, think of him/her as the devil. I love this one, especially since I am a huge bread lover. This really has been a huge help to me.

A little extra fat won't hurt you. I am surprised by the steak...did it indicate it was marinated on the menu? I usually order steak and have not come across this unless it was obvious by the name on the menu.
Just stick to a good phase 1 day today nd you will be fine.
