I may be wrong but someone yesterday said the Sour Cream and Onion Soy puffs were un-restricted. I thought they were, am I wrong? I am not allowed to eat them anyways as I am a celiac. I always mention to my coach that there needs to be munches or bars that are un-restrictive.
WI today, yay!! Can't wait to see the inches and the #'s go
Good morning guys! BBQ'd with my future in-laws last night, had a big ol salad with two hamburger patties on top, mustard over everything. Boy that macaroni salad looked good... But, I resisted and this morning I was rewarded! Went to bed at 182 (right after a protein shake and chugged a LOT of water) and this morning the scale said 176.5 WAHOO! Feeling so good, and ready to have a great day! Hope you are all feeling the same way!

Hi Willsea - that was me. Yes, my coach told me they are unrestricted. They're only 8g of carbs, while the other chip-like snacks are much higher.
Colorado - congrats on making it through the BBQ!
Will sea- I didn't know they had sour cream and onion puffs! Can't wait to try them.....hopefully they'll be un restricted.
Good luck with weigh ins!
I mad zucchini spaghetti for dinner yesterday with tomato chunks and chicken, FANTASTIC! Glad I have some growing in the garden!
Hi Everyone,
Looking for some advice about traveling. I have a work trip next week, Monday - Thursday, out west. I'll be eating in airports and then it's a big group with catered meals with a bunch of sales people who seem to only eat read meat and potatoes, occasionally corn or green beans! Then I'm spending the weekend w/a girlfriend in Colorado. She knows about the diet, but I don't think really understands how limited I am.
Help! Pointers on what to pack. I'm already planning on snack bags like white cheddar crisps, and shake powders but I won't be in control of my own schedule for eating. I *just* got back on the diet and don't want to blow it.
early weigh in today, my coach is on vacation so I had to go in 3 days early.
-2lbs I think I am ok with that.. of course I wished it was way more )=
1/4 inch neck
1/2 waist
3/4 hips
1/4 leg
so all in all I am shrinking!! Yay!!
@Manda Marie that's a tuff spot to be in....i would say salads, bars if you have any, get some ready made drinks too maybe over ice the strawberry banana is pretty decent......the chocolate pudding is another good choice and while i eat it cold does not require any cooling to be fresh, so its more portable.
with your girlfriend it will be easier and if she is a good friend she will understand even if we do seem limited to other people.
GOOD JOB on losses folks that have posted so far...i'm off to my WI soon as well..but its TOM for me...so who knows if the scale has done a thing D:

First off...Don't think of this as making you limited. When you have to address it... It's all semantics and perception! You are "Selective".."Picky" ..."Kinda Particular"...get the picture?
As wise members of this forum remind each other...Plan-Plan-Plan!!
You can get salad and broiled fish or chicken just about anywhere others are ordering a steak if you are out and don't want a steak and baked potato. If they do sandwiches or burgers...it's easy to lose the bread/roll and make a salad out of the meat. If it's catered...ask ahead if there "will be salad...?" If not order your own and have it delivered if possible. (even pizza places have salad and will deliver).
Take individual cans of water packed tuna and hard boiled eggs in your carryon with you. I am retired now, but meet up with friends or someone from work and other avenues of my life almost every week...no one knows I've been doing IP for over 6 months. They all noticed I had become "More Particular of late" ...and of course NOW the weight loss is dramatic. Saw a coworker I have not seen since the holidays for dinner last night. It was a hoot !! I was doing that "particular" thing back in December when we last met in a group....

I've found that eating out is super easy on this diet. Always go for grilled chicken/fish/steak with a green veggie on the side. Easy peasy. If I'm having dinner at someone's house, I put the carby stuff on my plate and pick around it so that I don't offend them or cause a ruckus. No big deal. But luckily catered meals usually have at least one kind of green veggie!
Bring tons of packets and shaker cups. Sneak off to get a shake in if you must. I've lived on just chocolate shake packets for my 3 IP meals while traveling, just because it's easy. The strawberry wafers, crisps, and bars are easy too.
Subway is a good option for the airport. Grilled chicken with a monster salad with tons of peppers, spinach, pickles, etc. Grilled chicken salads from other airport fast food restaurants work too. Maybe bring a few WF salad dressing individual packets or just olive oil for a dressing. The nicer (but overpriced) restaurants in airports almost always have a steak/chicken/fish + veggie option.
JenJen44: That’s super good to know. I guess I was never told since it's not on my list of things I can have.
Manda Marie: It seems to work out. I believe on the weekend someone mentioned a daily pill box with some spices. Wish I had thought of that when I was on long trips. I found a silicon funnel that folded up was my best friend (much easier than trying to make my own or the slowly the pack). I always had a drink pack in my purse while away and they always supplied water in water bottles. The funnel helped with getting the entire packet in the bottle (I was sick of carrying around a shaker and I am a small purse kind of girl).
do you have the names/authors of the books you recommend easily at hand. i have just purchased the kindle version of The Art and Science of Low Carbohydrate Living -- it is excellent.
