It's time to take responsibility

  • Hi ladies,

I have decided it's time to stop feeling sorry for myself and take actions starting now. i have gone from 110lbs to 189lbs which is my current weigh but I have no one to blame other than myself. I have been a long time lurker and read a lot of success stories on this site which has made me realized that if you guys can do it so can I. I want to lose atleast 30 pounds within the next 2 months and wanted to know if someone can guide me on how should i get started. I know diet is important so I am going to cut (atleast try to) all sugars and refined carbs from my life starting today. I will keep you all updated and tell complete truth of what actions I took. Wish me luck .
  • Goodluck! I've recently joined too but been lurking for a while, and i've finally taken responsibility for my weight. I've just been eating healthy and i can see a difference already! I think i'll start 30 Day Shred when i feel brave enough
  • Welcome and good luck to both of you! Trust me...if I can do it, anyone can. For weight loss, calorie counting is the most important first step. Understanding what you put in your body and how much or how little you require is vital. Add exercise for fitness and to increase your calorie deficit...but definitely start with the nutrition and get comfortable with that change.

  • Thank you ladies, that means a lot to me. Hopefully I will find a mentor or two being here and keep you all updated. I am going to start with yoga as exercise and starting walk for about an hour so it will be like this:

    Even days: walking 1 hour
    Odd days: 30 minute yoga

    what do you thinK?
  • Congrats
    Hi,
So happy to hear that you have a good plan about your health .. Goodluck to you and just always bear in your mind that self-dicipline is the key for you success to loss your weight.
  • Good luck to u I just started as well calorie counting and really really wanna run but its so hard well anyways goodluck to u
  • Although, I lost 25 pounds in my first two months of dieting, I think 30 is possible with a lot of hard work and dedication to the plan. Now, I'm pretty much consistent with 10 lbs a month. I did 1200 cals a day, no eating after 5, plenty of water and lots of exercise. I started with 4 days a week and built up intensity and more days as each week passed. Now, I'm doing 6 days a week for 1.5 - 3 hours and my calories usually are not over 1300. Welcome to the forum and good luck with your goal!! yes, keep us posted
  • Alitorry i bought a juicer from amazon and I plan to use that for my food intake. I am planning to just make a big quantity of juice in the morning (fruits and veg's) and drink it through out the day. From my estimate it will be around 1300 calories and I was recently introduced to this drink called kumbucha which has manifold of benefits. So i will be doing them both and walking and yoga like I previously stated and will keep everything below 1300. Well I have to go walk in about 15 minutes and thank you all for your support.
  • Guys, I feel back and ate carbs and I feel really bad about my actions. It wasn't a ton of carbs but my grandparents are in town for a while and they cooked some amazing food which I couldn't resist . But, there is good news that since I started I lost 6 pounds .
  • Best wishes on your goal to lose 30 pounds in 2 months. Its all in the mind. Once you set your mind and heart on your goal everything else will take care of itself. Best of luck!
