Beginning the Zone may be overwhelming. You may want to look in the MTZ book-- I think it has an appendix in the back with a sample shopping list (not sure).
Make sure you balance your day 40% (low glycemic) Carbs, 30% Protein and 30% fat. The book talks in blocks-- you need to figure out how many blocks you need in your day.
Your list should limit pastas, rice and potatoes. Some of us have given those up all together. Have plenty of protein sources and lower glycemic carbs-- your book will tell you.
