Default Cheap...

It's that terrible time between thanks giving and Christmas, and let's face it, a lot of people are flat out broke (myself included). Can someone give me some advice on good healthy foods that are rather (I hate to say it) cheap.my wallet is pretty barren, but I want together some good bang for my buck.

Watch the stores for sales, all the major supermarkets have weekly specials.

If you can find sales on frozen veggies, stock up. I always keep a few bags in my freezer for when I'm low on cash and can't afford fresh.

Dried beans are really cheap, filling, and a good source of protein. You can make a delicious, filling soup for mere pennies a serving (split pea, white bean, etc.).

I vote for the beans (dried and canned) and oatmeal for nutrition and price. I love making wraps with scrambled eggs and salsa on a tortilla, can be for lunch or dinner.

Also, check out the healthy sale items at the store and plan your meals around that.
