When I last renewed mine I was close to my highest weight. I think I was 204 but I claimed 175. It still says 175 and I am down to 135. I need a new license!
Jeez, I have lived in 3 different states and have NEVER had my weight on my driver's license! I don't think I would EVER show my license to anyone if I did. I don't see why it's on there, anyway--your weight can change so much before you renew again (especially those that go 5+ years between renewals). I guess I don't understand why they have hair/eye color either, since you can change both of those with dye and contacts
Love this thread. I don't have to get mine renewed until 2046, good lord. So my weight was from when I was 16 (I did get a new on when I turned 21 so it would be horizontal instead of vertical, but I could just get it over the net, I didn't have to change anything.) The weight I put was 150 and I think at the time I was lying by 10 pounds, but 150 was my normal weight after highschool (more or less). So now it's off by 18 pounds, but back in August was off by 40 pounds! It's funny because i felt so guilty at 16 putting that I weighed 10 pounds under what I actually did, HA!
Mine's off by 103. I put 165 on mine when I got my learner's permit at 15 1/2 and have never changed it. I think I weighed more like 180 at the time. You can bet that when I get below that weight that my license will magically disappear. We renew ours every 4 years and I still have just over 3 years until I get a new one.
Jilly, I know what you mean about hair/contacts/weight being so easily changeable. In my early twenties I had put on quite a bit of weight and was up to 170 pounds. I also had very short darker reddish-brown hair and wore glasses. Over the course of one year I dropped down to 127 pounds, let my hair grow, dyed it a lighter blondish-red, and started wearing contacts. Needless to say, neither my passport nor my driver's license looked anything like me. I would go out to clubs and have to explain why I didn't match my id almost every time!

I keep wondering why this doesn't happen to me. Here's what my license picture looks like and my avatar is a recent shot. Nobody ever even blinks.
Tani I can't believe that no one blinks when they look. I just showed my DH and he was like. What a difference. Love the hair by the way. You look fantastic.
In NY, we don't have to mention weight. Thank God! When I lived in Iowa, I gave myself a miraculous 20 pound loss though just by walking through the door of the DMV.
When I lived in Iowa, I had a tendency to fib just a little on my license. I think I would put 180. I was probably 25 lbs more then that. Then I came to Vermont and I told the truth. What was I thinking.
And I agree why do we have to put our weight on our licenses? What does it really matter? I'll never can understand the DMV.

I think it's because if you commit a crime, they can say you're 5'10", 150 pounds, green eyes, etc., but come on ... people nab you by the picture, not the poundage.
Does this mean I am free to commit crimes as long as I don't look anything like my DMV photo or description? Dang....all those wasted years of being good.
